5.0 out of 5 stars Great song!
There has been a bit of confusion with the track listings. JIVE record company decided to make 2 different CD's for the smash hit song, "Lucky". So there's part 1 and part 2. If this is part 1, then the tracks are:

1. Lucky (Album Version)

2. Heart

3. Lucky (Jack D. Elliot Radio Mix)

If this CD is the part 2 version the tracks are:

1. Lucky...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheese- cute cheese, but cheese.
I like Britney Spears. I admit it. Besides my Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos albums, I have some Britney stuff. And I like "Lucky". I think it's an okay song and certainly one of the cheesiest pop songs I have heard. This is not a put-down. It is an amusing song, and sorry, I don't have that much sympathy for "Lucky" (the character) because she's...

4.0 out of 5 stars 2 beautiful songs and 1 remix to listen to...., August 24, 2000
By
This review is from: Lucky (Audio CD)
When I first listened to Britney Spears's cd "Oops I did it again", the first song I really liked was "Lucky"... I think the message given from the song lets many girls realte to it.. even though we aren't these big time movie stars. I think some teenage girls feel "lucky" because in many ways they get what they want from their famlies, have great friends and live the life that they want. But I think at night, when your by yourself, you still feel like something is missing.. it might be love or maybe you just don't know. I really liked this song.. and also the other song "Heart" featured on this single.. "Heart" is a really pretty song.. her voice is beautiful and the back round music is also beautiful. If you buy this single, you'll definatley like it (i know i did)

5.0 out of 5 stars Five "Lucky" Stars!, August 20, 2000

"Lucky" is really a great song! Britney's style really comes through, when she says "Early Morning..." she transforms the words into "EarlAY morNAIN" perfect, with that perfect combo of attitude, soul, and honesty. Its undeniably catchy, and sweet. The chorus is rich, and rolls of the tounge, "She's so lucky...".And for once, she sings not about love, but a character, and its probably the only song out right now like that. And the last great thing about it, it combines music eras, (the shoop shoop 50s sound) and the totally modern and rocky (opening notes and chorus).Listen to this....youre ears will thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucky - a superb hit from Britney's amazing career!, December 15, 2002
By

This review is from: Lucky (Audio CD)
In August 2000 Britney Spears released Lucky, the follow up to her smash hit UK No.1 Oops!...I Did It Again. Britney was undoubtedly at the peak of her career at this moment in time - her second album Oops!...I Did It Again was riding high around the world and had already sold 10 million copies in 2 months! A few more singles from the album boosted its total sales up to a lofty 21 million.

I personally think Lucky was a brave choice for a single, considering there were so many other brilliant songs on the Oops!...I Did It Again album (What U See Is What U Get and Don't Go Knockin' On My Door spring to mind). The single that followed Lucky was Stronger, so I would've released Stronger first, then Lucky. Anyway, no point in moaning - can't change the past! The song Lucky is about a female film star who seemingly has it all - the looks, the fame, the money, the love etc., but deep down she's not happy. "If there's nothing missing in my life, then why do these tears come at night?" she sings towards the end of the chorus. Many people began to wonder if this song was a personal reference to Britney's life. I think the verses are rather good on Lucky, but the bit that annoys me so much is the part in the middle where the man goes, "And the winner is....Lucky!" It's so corny and in a way, a much more dire follow up to Britney's reference to the Titanic in Oops!...I Did It Again. The video to Lucky was a good one, but definitely not her best - probably the worst from all the videos to the songs from the Oops!...I Did It Again album. You may be thinking why the hell did I give this song a 5-star review (for a change!), but the answer to that is because of tracks 2 and 3. Track 2 is called Heart and is a superb ballad that is almost better than Lucky itself. Track 3 is Lucky (Jack D. Elliot Radio Mix) and is another brilliant track. This is a very catchy remix of Lucky which suits the song very well. It's not one of those remixes that goes on for hours. Infact, it's only 2 seconds longer that the actual song Lucky - which stands at 3:24 itself. The presentation of this CD single is also superb. The actual disc is green and yellow, while the cover has a great picture of Britney in a white tube top - definitely one of Britney's best single covers along with Born To Make You Happy, I'm A Slave 4 U and Boys. If you're looking for a superb Britney song with some excellent extra tracks, Lucky is the song for you! Buy it now from Amazon.com!

"Lucky" talks about a girl that is so popular in the day but isn't at all happy in the night! Because she misses be a normal person! I pretty sure many people can relate to this song! "Lucky" is another great song that could of had a little better video...but it was still good! This song was really performed well in her concerts! This song is Brintey's "sound." Cd is worth the money! Will bring happiness for years to come!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop Music At Its Best!!, September 7, 2000
By
Remix Junkie (Dallas, Texas USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lucky (Audio CD)
I am a Britney music fan. LOVE her stuff. Britney herself, however, is another matter, but we won't go into that here. I grew up listening to the oldies my parents grew up on--all the golden 50s stuff, and "Lucky" really has that kind of feel. Plus, I'd like to admit right here that I am a pop junkie. I adore ear candy. In my opinion, there isn't a thing wrong with music simply for music's sake. No deeper meaning required. Even Britney herself said (on MTV's Making the Video for "Lucky") that she is not one to complain about her life and that she wouldn't trade it for anything. "Lucky" is a character, completely fictional. It also happens to be a fabulous pop song. (And the remix!! Did I mention the remix?? AWESOME remix.) "Heart," the bonus track not available in the U. S., (although it was on the McDonald's promotional CD) is a complete throwaway, as in my opinion, Britney should not sing ballads. Her voice just isn't expressive enough, nor does she possess the maturity. All in all, I feel the remix itself is totally worth the money, because it gets the job done without going on for ten minutes or sounding like every other remix, while still retaining the backbone of the original "Lucky." Five Stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can she be LUCKY?, August 25, 2000
This review is from: Lucky (Audio CD)
Lucky is a great song... The remix is great and so it the LPversion. It's too bad they don't carry the instrumental, but we can live without it. The music video carries a concept which shows us the life of this actress named 'Lucky... As for the single, it's great, and it's an import too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great song by the fabulous Britney Spears!, August 17, 2000

I think Britney Spears is the greatest singer of all time and here she did it again with the smash hit, "Lucky." This song represents Britney's ability to really touch her audience and yet still remain soulful and edgy at the same time. I think Britney is totally underestimated with her talent. ...I think Britney is great and really should have gotten that Grammy! Well, there's always next year! :) I completely recommend getting this CD single along with all her other CD's! Britney, you rock!
