An online review of many different child backpacks rated this one #1 and we see why. It is very well made, durable, full featured, adjustable, comfortable, strong, and attractive. It comes in different sizes and just make sure you don't get one that too big for your child. The bottom of the pack should not be lower than your child's lower back, otherwise the load in the pack will strike and/or rub on your child's upper-rear hipbones. Use the chest strap and make sure all straps are adjusted properly. Also make sure the load is evenly distributed and that it does not exceed 10% of your child's weight.

Not too big, not too small and appears to be well made.
We bought this for our little guy prior to a flight to hold his essentials so Mommy didn't have to.
The main section was able to hold a coloring book, another small book, a kids neck pillow and his favorite stuffed bear.
A smaller front pocket contained crayons, sunglasses and an assortment of cars & trains.
Plus a side pocket held a good-sized water bottle.
There are both chest & waist straps so that we could adjust it properly for him.
Only complaint was that the compression straps which we used to hold his jacket seemed to be too big for the pack and so - although we did use them to hold his jacket - felt much too loose so we felt the need to check it constantly to make sure it hadn't fallen off.
