So our 9 year old daughter loves green, thus why I purchased this bag after reading the description and reviews. We were both disappointed. First off the carrying sack that the sleeping bag came is much to tight - we had to have two people (one pulling the carry sack and the other pulling the sleeping bag) to even get the sleeping bag out of the carry sack, and after that we knew there was no way it was going back into the carry sack, which was too bad since the sack was nicely made and had handles built into it, and a kid could even carry it like a backpack. Now the bag is out and my daughter is a bit upset because the bright green depicted in the pictures online is not the color green in real life - it was more of an army green or dark green. Strike two. So she unzips the bag and crawls in...zips the bag up only to find she can;t even move around to turn over - she really is a mummy - this bag is very tight and our daughter is not overweight, nor is she large/tall (86 lbs and 4'4")she also fills the bag head to toe - the description says it fits up to 5'5", good luck there. For sizing I would say this bag was made for children 6 and under. So at that point we know we are returning it. As I hold the bag up to zip it and repackage it - i can actually see through it, yes I see the light and can make out where all the fill is at etc, there is no way this bag would be warm at 10 degrees. So Lucky Bums, cute design, bad description and quality. Returned item, no hassles - I love amazon.com!

Though I don't like to buy too many expensive things that my kids will just grow out of, I bit the bullet and bought this sleeping bag for my 7 year old's first backpacking trip. I'm so glad I did! The bag is small and compresses to downright tiny, which made it possible for him to easily carry in his pack along with his own clothes and hydration bladder. At 2 pounds and 10 degrees it was one of the lightest and warmest youth sized bags I could find, and it worked out perfectly! On the 40 degree night we spent with it so far, he wore just some regular jammies and NO SOCKS and was plenty warm all night long. I don't give temp ratings too much weight and I'm not sure this bag would truly be warm down to 10 degrees, but it could easily be warm down to 30 and maybe lower if the child is wearing something nice and warm to boot. The description says it fits kids up to 5' tall, which I think it will but that's only if the kid doen't mind their feet fighting the bottom of the bag all night. Luckily my son has a younger brother so when he gets too tall for it we'll just pass it down. Quality seems very good so I expect it to last many years, and the included compression sack is wonderful! Very happy with this product, especially since the price was great compared to many other youth sized bags that were heavier and had higher temp ratings. My one wish to make it even better would be to have a pocket in the hood to stuff a shirt or two in to create a pillow, which I've seen on some other models. Still, this bag is wonderful and I have already started recommending it to others, even if they only car camp.
