I bought this toy 2 years ago for my son's 3rd Christmas, and we still play this game. My other son just turned 2 and now he can play also. Besides teaching colors, it also helps teach sharing as everyone has to wait his/her turn. My husband and I also enjoy playing with the boys, although after a few games the "quacking" may get annoying. But that's when the boys play by themselves, and learn cooperation. I think it's a great game for kids and adults. It's easy for kids to pick up the concept and as they get older they learn to watch who picks up their ducks and where they are on the pond. And it's a quick game, so it doesn't go on forever.

I recently purchased this game for our daughters ages 3 1/2 and 2. I must say it was a wise decision. I searched and searched for a game that they could not mutilate and this one has passed the test. They love the action watching the ducks swim around the pond, and they also love the quacking sounds. Our parlor where they play this game is carpeted, so I have no problem with the noise level at all. I knew my 3 1/2 year old would understand the concept of choosing the colors, but I am VERY pleased that my 2 year old is just as enthusiastic about finding her LUCKY colored DUCK!! The manufacturer lists the ages as 3-6 years, but I would put it as 2-6. There are no parts they can choke on, and it's just too cute not to let the little ones play with it!

This game has it good points and bad ones. It is a fun game until the child figures out that keeping an eye on the duck you pick lets him know where the ducks are. Also it quacks so loud and doesn't stop that one or two game is all that I can endure. I wouldn't buy this game for a child over 4 years of age because then they get smart enough to figure it out. But for children under 4 it is really a great game if you can stand the quacking.

The nice thing about this game is that it is easy, my two year old can play along with my 4 year old, but I must say, I seldom take it out because it is just plain LOUD. There is no volume control and it just KEEPS QUACKING AND QUACKING AND QUACKING. If I had ever been at someones house who had this, I never would have let my daughter get it.

We bought this for our daughter when she was 2 and she didn't get it at all. She'll be three in 3 in 2 months and now she loves it. It's helped her learn her colors and that she has to take turns. We keep switching the colored cards around, too, so she can learn the different colors. There's only one problem with this game: THERE'S NO OFF/ON SWITCH!!! The other reviews were correct about the noise. It just keeps quacking and the only way to stop it when you put it away is to unscrew the screw on the battery holder and take the batteries out, which is incredibly inconvenient. The button that makes the game "Quack" is actually pretty large and is high in the box so I end up with the same problem that some of these reviewers had: If a put anything on top of that box, whether it's another toy or something light like a baby blanket, it's starts to quack. What's a little scary is that my husband and I actually became immune to this noise after a while and sat through an entire dinner not even realizing, until the end, that the annoying "Quacking" was going off the entire time. This, obviously puts wear and tear on the battery. So.... educational? Yes, I think it is. Fun for kids? Absolutely. Annoying? You can't even imagine!

I bought this game for a 3 yr. old boy, who's just starting to play games. Yes, as so many reviewers stated, it's noisey and annoying. So are most things a 3 yr. old likes. It's not so bad if you play on carpeting or other padded surface. And so many reviewers mentioned the problem of it going off when you put it away in the box. I found a very simple solution. I lay a few ducks on their side in the "pond". They're slightly higher than the quack button, so touching the top of the box won't press it. Easier than removing batteries. The only way this game could have been improved is if the ducks eyes and colored bottoms weren't decals. Then he could also play with them in the tub. But I think this game is cute, and recommend it to anyone with a child 2-4 yrs. old.

I purchased the Lucky Ducks game for Christmas for my two daughters one is 4 and the other is 2. The game is cute and fun to play, but I wish I would have read the reviews before I bought the game. This game is very loud and annoying after about 1 minute. I tried putting tape over the holes where the sound comes out of but, it was no help at all, the sound comes out of the entire game. I store the game in the toychest, and whenever I put something else near the game the quacking sound starts and my 2 year old wants to play the game. She loves it!! If there was a volume control or mute button, I would feel much different about the game.

I recently bought this game for my son, who is nearly 3 and just getting interested in games. Until I read all the other reviews, I had hardly thought about how loud it is--my house is always loud as it is, between 2 small children and my husband's stereo! Most other games we have seen are still a little beyond my son's understanding, so I was happy to find one with very few, very straightforward rules. Even those rules are slightly beyond him--he sometimes tries to go out of turn, sometimes hands the ducks he picks to the person who has that color, & always wants to keep playing until we all get our ducks, even if he's already won. But he has a lot of fun and is learning the concepts of taking turns and playing games. I would recommend it unless you just don't like noisy games...but we do always play it on a carpet or rug!

I bought this for my three year old, because she loves anything to do with rubber duckies. After a few tries she got the concept. It is one of the few games she sits down and plays. It teaches her colors, taking tuns, memory skills, and winning or losing. I highly reccommend this for kids who aren't quite into complex board games. Yes, it is loud, but the sound does not bother me at all. My daughter has fun with this game, and I enjoy playing it with her. I like that she can even play this alone if she wants since it is a spin-off of a memory game. I would reccomend this game!

Kids love this game! Quaking is loud but kids love it. I discovered you can elimate the quacking by removing one of the batteries! A classic preschool game. A must have!
