Lucky is actually the most calm character in the family (well, whose had his own story anyway. Fallon is certainly a lot more reserved.). He is bursting with love and is absolutely devoted to his family, he’s just a little quitter than his sister and cousins. Lucky my favorite kind of bad boy. He is a tatted up, rough, sexy as hell man. However, he’s got a degree in business, his own successful shops, and a total sweetheart under the tough exterior. His demons keep him from truly believing he deserves Kaylie, but I loved the fact that he doesn’t pretend he isn’t falling for her. He recognizes it, and accepts it. He just won’t act on it for fear that he will hurt her.
Kaylie is the kind of heroine you want to be friends with. She is determined to ruin her image and she goes through with the plan in a big way. She’s not a pushover and she gives as good as she gets. But, the sweet girl who played “Honest Abby” as a child star is still in there and she rounds out the whole package. She has patience for Lucky’s issues and she supports him and wants to help him move past them in a big way.
Their relationship is filled with sexual tension and at the same time, a lot of tenderness. Lucky’s got a dirty, yummy mouth, smoking up the pages with his heat.Read more ›
This is an amazing story about how sometimes the person we least expect to save us is the exact person we needed all along.
Lucky… His motto is “Nobody ever getting this Lucky.” A true bachelor he has never had the one month anniversary because his relationships don’t last that long. Unfortunately for Lucky he believes he doesn’t desire love, or to be happy. A daily struggle, he tries to move on from his past, but with an estranged twin brother constantly on his mind he must learn to forgive himself for things that were once out of his control.
Kaley is an ex-star fighting desperately to break free from her former good girl role. She is used to being at the bottoms of peoples list when it came to importance. But all that was about to change. No longer caring what people thought of her she decides to take her life into her own hands. Breaking free from the girl she used to be she decided to change her image and a chance meeting with Lucky is exactly what she needs to do it. But Lucky could be more than she bargained for when his intentions become more selfish than what they originally agreed on.
This story was intense! Kelly did a fantastic job at showing where these two characters were coming from. The book being told in a third person pov also offered inner thoughts which I loved!! I loved Lucky! I saw him setting her up right from the start and all I could do was laugh. He was sexy, and charming but under it all you could see his inner pain along with his inner beauty. Such an amazing male character! And Kaley was the perfect girl for him. Never acting bratty or selfish she was toe to toe with him every step of the way and she never backed down. She is exactly what he needed to move on. I can’t wait for to see what Kelly writes next!!
