I don't know why this movie didn't do better, and why some reviews are ONE STAR reviews. It is certainly much better than ONE STAR. Nevertheless, I found this to be up with GET SHORTY, very dialogue driven movie, which I personally love.

Very funny moments, characters and story. Tim Roth, Michael Rapaport, Ed O'Neil, Bill Pullman and Michael Moore all add great funny performances. I generally don't like Travolta, but both this and GET SHORTY is the exception.

This, like 29th Street is an underrated movie that I think people had too high expectations and therefore the possible disaapointment. I laughed almost through the entire movie. What people will do for money!

This film is underrated and underappreciated. I've shown it to several friends and they thought it was great also.

Can't say enough about Lisa Kudrow in this film, every scene she's in, she steals. Michael Moore's last scene with Lisa Kudrow is classic. They did a great job! If you like a good, dark comedy, this film is for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie!!!!!!!!!!, September 15, 2005
This review is from: Lucky Numbers (DVD)
This is a great John Travolta comedy that was probably inspired by a true story in Pittsburgh Pennsyvania back in 1980,when a local popular television celebrity "Nick Perry" was allegedly involved in a televised lottery fix and had to serve prison time.Anyway,it's an interesting must see movie !!!!!

This is the kind of film you want to watch when you want to forget about the pressures of life for a little while.

Slightly vulgar, but apparently one of the best comedies America has ever seen since "Hot Shots" I reccomend this movie to anyone thirteen and above. It's got a great cast - Colin Mocrie, John Travolta, Lisa Kudrow, who else do you need? Trust me - you gotta see it to believe it!

I'm dumbfounded by some of the reviews this page...guess they just didn't "get" it. This film is hilarious. It's clever, witty and extremely entertaining. Travolta is classic as the pathetic "gameshow-host wannabe" weather man. The characters are so well defined and so sadly pathetic in their own ways - it's what makes the film such a classic comedy. It's unbelievable that more people have not caught on to it. If you liked the Big Lebowski, Orange County, the Cable Guy - any film with esoteric characterization, you will absolutely love this film. It's a dark comedy people, get over it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its The Little Things, March 25, 2001
This review is from: Lucky Numbers (DVD)
I went to see this movie it's opening weekend back in October. I am not a fan of John Travolta but I am a huge Lisa Kudrow fan. Its been six months since the release of this film and without ever viewing this again, I went out and bought it. I didn't really remember that much about it. I just remembered in one of the first things when Lisa Kudrow's character Christal tripped and the look on her face and I knew I had to buy this movie. That is how it is for the entire movie. There arent ALOT of really funny moments but there are enought to easily get you through the movie. Lisa Kudrow is great as Christal, a snobby Lotto girl, who seems to be sleeping with everyone. Bill Pullman is hilarious as a lazy cop. I recommend this to anyone who wants something a little different than the mainstream comedies that seem to be more popular. This was funny in its own, original way. As for the DVD itself, there arent alot of special features but I guess in the end, all you need is the movie.

I just loved this movie, I think that it is very funny. John Travolta sure was the perfect actor for his place in this movie. I thought that with Lisa Kudrow starring in this movie, then it would be funnier than any other movie... You have to get this movie, you will never regret it.
