Editorial Reviews

Product Description
The band's eighth full-length album. Deliberately and aggressively raw, it sounds as lean and as full-on as any modern equivalent one cares to mention. Recorded in a scant three and a half days, written and recorded "from the rhythm up" instead of from the riff and lyrics down. The effect is to thrust out the bottom-end rumble of drummer Dan Peters and bassist Guy Maddison, and to bring about a cohesive whole not entirely ruled by the almighty riff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Back indeed, May 23, 2008
By R. Robertson (Murder City, MI) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The finest work since Superfuzz Bigmuff and Mudhoney. It is different but after 20 years what else would you expect? These guys have been solid for years and can still get it done better than 95% of the other crap out there right now.

5.0 out of 5 stars 20 years of garage rocking!!, May 25, 2008
Mudhoney are back and still better than almost all the competition. Not a lot of innovation in style on this record yet it is hard to think of a current band who sound quite like Mudhoney and even harder to think of one who rock as much! Mark Arm's voice is still a thing to behold after all these years and "tales of terror" and "I'm now" are up there with Mudhoneys best songs! 20 years on and the great grunge survivors are still around to show the rest how it should be done!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Cool Record, December 18, 2008
This review is from: The Lucky Ones (Vinyl)
Like a lot of people, I've been listening to Mudhoney since the early 90's. This is as good a record as they've ever put out. I would recommend it to someone who's never heard a Mudhoney record before (thus the five star rating). Frankly, if you like The Stooges, you'll be amazed - - I think this record was made in the Fun House itself.

The title song "The Lucky Ones" might be my favorite new song of 2008.

Treat yourself to the vinyl version. Great package - free mp3 coupon AND a bonus 7-inch. Awesome!
