Editorial Reviews

Review

"A glorious, improbable artifact… Lucky Peach is not only something to behold, it is also something to hold, a reminder of print’s true wingspan.”
The New York Times

"A masterpiece of modern-food culture."
Time

“The magazine’s tone is so casual it’s almost drunken. Its aesthetic is a graphic pulp pastiche of drawings, photo essays and kitsch—you’ll discover traces of comic books, handwritten script and recipes presented in science-lab format.”
The Wall Street Journal

“There’s been a sudden growth in magazines for food obsessives eager for more than just recipes. Lucky Peach… is perhaps the cleverest. A nerdy, witty high-end- fan-zine, it makes smart use of Chang’s contacts, with Anthony Bourdain, Harold McGee and Mario Batali among the contributors.”
The Guardian

Lucky Peach is hands down one of my favorite magazines. I am a foodie and this publication combines great writing and illustrations with the tasty morsels I love so much. If you like food and you want a more youthful and well-written magazine about it, try Lucky Peach. After your first issue, you will wish this was a monthly publication and not a quarterly one.

As denoted, this is the street food issue and it is plum full of great essays and articles on various street food vendors, locales, and ethnicities.

Lucky Peach is a great magazine and this issue is one of its best yet!

Some of the articles in this edition, like the one related to making Masa and Nixtamalization are incredibly informative and include great recipes (like poaching an egg inside a puffy tortilla). Unfortunately there are a few bores that seem like filler, perhaps at fault is that the edition sticks too firmly to being a "street food" edition. Overall, very good though and worth buying.

I am a Lucky Peach subscriber. This issue is, perhaps, the best one yet. There are so many articles to read! If you're at all into street food, buy this magazine immediately.

I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. While it is an interesting concept, sort of Mad Mag meets food writer,
Don't think I'll be getting the next issue.

Excellent as always. Wonderfully written and expertly laid out. The articles in this issue will make you want to hop on a plane and travel somewhere where you can find some damn good street food!
