4.0 out of 5 stars A review of Get Lucky (Daft Punk Remix) June 27, 2013
Format:MP3 Music
We've all listened to the hopelessly infectious Daft Punk track Get Lucky by now. Pharell's smooth vocals, Nile Rodgers' classic guitar lick, Daft Punk's talk-box vocals, and that underbelly of groove.

Well Daft Punk has finally streamed their anticipated remix of their newest Top 5 single, and to much surprise, it is not a house re-make of Get Lucky. Rather, Daft Punk, continuing the process of old-school production values, have remixed Get Lucky in the same way that great 70s and 80s DJs like Larry Levan, Jim Burgess, Shep Pettibone, and John "Jellybean" Benitez. Remember those 12" remixes of your favorite pop tunes? They would add just a little bit more to to the track, perhaps a greater kick or some slight instrumentation, make the track longer, shuffle some things around, and issue it to vinyl. And Daft Punk has continued that legacy. On Get Lucky (Daft Punk Remix), Daft Punk added some subtle bells, a heavier kick, and shuffled around Pharrell's vocals with their own vocodered ones, and extended the track to a whopping ten-and-a-half minutes long, so all those dance floor disco fanatics can dance to Daft Punk's new tune just a little bit longer, like they used to do back in the day. Not much change, but just enough.

After all, why mess with a good thing?

So buy the vinyl when it comes out, and re-live 80s DJs as you put the needle to the newly-pressed wax for the very first time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD single. August 18, 2013
By A. Luna
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
According to the editorial review found on Amazon's web page for this audio CD single, this CD was only released in Europe, so I ordered mine from the vendor named 'reflexcdgb' here on Amazon and I was very pleased. This vendor is located in the U.K., and I received my package in perfect condition about 2 weeks later (due to international shipping).

This audio CD single contains the following two song titles:

1. Get Lucky (Album Version) (6:07)
2. Get Lucky (Radio Edit) (4:08)

For some reason, the "Get Lucky (Daft Punk Remix)" (10:31) version of the song was not included on this CD single, but this song version can be found on the "Get Lucky" 12-inch vinyl single which is also available here on Amazon. I bought the 12-inch vinyl single as well just to have all three versions of the song, because I really like the remix version, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good April 19, 2013

Song really starts for me @ 2:21. Dig it. Especially when Pharrell comes back in on top of everything. There is something kind of simple and clean to the song that i enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Funky! April 24, 2013
By J. Enos
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I've been listening to this track since its release and before that I had the one minute ad on repeat.

For me this track is the perfect blend of Daft Punk's robo voices, funky guitar licks and Pharell's smooth vocals.

One of the best-mixed/recorded albums ever. Worth it for the sound quality alone. Sort of an F-U by the duo to the world of EDM, but whatever, the attitude aside it's very listenable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Why are people excited over a new DISCO song!?
I expected something newer and even a "game changer" from Daft Punk. All this is is a NU DISCO song. It should not even be classified as a "Dance" song or even EDM. Read more
