Get Into A Real Toe-Tapping Groove With Lucky,
By Shell-Zee (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lucky Steels The Wheel (Audio CD)
Long-time pedal steel virtuoso Lucky Oceans steps out of the background and into the spotlight. Lucky Steels The Wheel is a brilliant debut by Lucky and fellow Asleep At The Wheel band members. Along with guest artist Johnny Gimble, Lucky livens things up with some really tasty instumentals "Texas Playboy Rag", "Relaxin'" and the old Santo & Johnnie tune "Sleepwalk". The hot pickin' and overall vibe of these sessions is so dead-on it would even make the late-great Bob Wills blush. Yes, plop this baby onto your CD player at your next party. Turn the volume up and watch how it will undoubtably get the crowd into a real toe-tapping groove. Consider yourself "lucky" if you're holding this long out of print little gem. It's not easy to find, but certainly worth the effort.
