Not real impressed,

With all the hype I was really looking forward to this book. If your looking for a general overview of list building, it's worth a look. If you want detail and how-to, you won't find as much here. I was really interested in co-registration, but the chapter contained one paragraph about the subject, and told you to try out his service. The rest of that chapter talked about list size and quality. What happened to information about co-reg? Guess I have to pay more to get it.
For the price I can't complain, I did learn a couple things, though there were no "wow" ideas. Much of the book I've already learned on article sites. I dont mind being pitched in a book, as long as the book is useful, but it seemed the book is pretty much a pitch for other higher priced products. Guess that's marketing nowdays. I'm sure glen knows his stuff, he's had some big success, just wish he would have shared more in the book.

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you already know that thousands of people are preaching "The Money is in the List." Heck, even some people under a rock may have been hearing it. Well, the truth is that the statement is true.
Glenn Hopkins does a great job with Lucrative List Building because he doesn't just tell you the obcvious, but actually explains how to start your own list, even from scratch. So, if you are a newbie to Internet Marketing or a seasoned veteran, you will find something of use in this book and it will easily pay for itself with the tips provided by Glen. I give this book 5 stars and have bought it myself both in print and other editions. It really is that good.

Glen Hopkins has produced the quintessential work on how to create a list and what to do with it. I was amazed how valuable the information is.
Even if you think you know everything about building a list, Glen has some insider secrets to share that can open your eyes. It's a small book and you can read it in an evening, but the contents are very powerful. He talks about viral maketing, co-registration, and turning that list into cash anytime you want. Sure, everyone will tell you "The Money is in the List." Every person who has ever been involved in any Internet Marketing has memorized this catch phrase.
Glenn Hopkins not only tells you why the "money is in the list" but shows you how to create your own list. This book is power-packed with incredibly useful information. Put "Lucrative List Bulding" on your reference bookshelf and keep it with-in arms reach. If you use just one of the many techniques contained here, this book will pay for itself many times over. Hopkins gives you the keys to the "List Building Highway". This book should be required reading for everyone involved in Internet Marketing as well as anyone who ever thought about Internet Marketing. The book is a quick and easy read. The infomation is easy to digest. Hopkins has a clear vision as he guides you with incredible tips and tricks you need to be a success on-line. And you always thought "The money is in the list." If you really want to find the money in the list, you need to get "Lucrative List Buiding."

Knowledge is NOT Power,

When I was attempting to grow my email list, this book was very helpful. Following the advice Hopkins wrote helped me go from 1000 subscribers to over 3000 in a relatively short period of time.
The key however, is to remember that knowledge is not power. There is a lot of knowledge in this short book. But that knowledge won't mean a thing if you don't take the steps necessary to apply that knowledge. Growing an Internet business is not rocket science. There are enough successful people out there who have already done it and are not stingy with their information to help others duplicate their success. You just have to be willing to follow a program and stick with it. Good luck with your list building.

This book is available in both eBook and hard copy versions, both of which cater to its respective user. I prefer the paperback version simply because it can be put on the shelf & be within reach for a quick reference when needed!
'Lucrative List Building' can provide enormous value to the reader . . . but only if an effort is made to follow the advice & suggestions. The book, I believe, is an excellent choice for individuals unfamiliar with internet marketing or marketing in general and for individuals who are 'building' their own websites to promote a product or service. Many individuals have websites but don't have a clue about what a 'squeeze page' or an opt-in form is. Glen clearly attempts to explain this & the importance of using this 'List Building' technique. In Chapter 5 - page 38, Glen explains what a 'squeeze page' is, how to 'squeeze' a visitor & with what, in order to 'capture' or acquire a potential customer's name and email address. What I've found to be true with many individuals that have learned how to master this, is that once they have subscribers - they don't know how to get them to become customers! However, Glen has not left out one of the more important parts of 'List Building' and that's explaining how to convert subscribers into eager paying customers . . . ! This is covered in Chapter 15 - page 77 "Trust Your Subscribers Like People and Show Them You Care". Glen explains how . . . by show & tell and by becoming an expert that cares. But I'd like to emphasize that even though many people profess that the 'Money is in the List', that's not entirely accurate. A subscriber that may have been painstakingly assembled could be full of 'tire kickers' and or 'freebie seekers' . . . so it's not how large of a list someone has, or even how small - it's the paying customer that is of importance in the list. The customer is the 'life' and 'breath' of your business, getting the customer to buy again, then again & again is what's most important in 'List Building'. Again, the author of 'Lucrative List Building' doesn't let us down. In Chapter 2 - page 20, Glen explains how having a responsive opt-in email list means that there will always be money in the bank. In other words, once a 'relationship' has been established with subscribers (potential customers) and the customers themselves, it'll always be there if the trust is not broken. With a targeted list of potential customers and those who have already purchased, it becomes a storehouse of revenue. Simply find out what people want and then give it to them! I haven't even scratched the surface, 'Lucrative List Building' is informative - from Chapter 1: "Success Begins In Your Mind, so Let's Start There" to Chapter 20: "Tying it all Together - The Grand Conclusion" - all simply explained throughout the 116 pages. Here is a small sample of additional chapters within the book 'Lucrative List Building': Chapter 2: "From Scratch to Millions: The Six Steps You Must Take to Build a Huge, Highly Profitable Email List" Chapter 6: "Signature Files & Business Cards: Make Like a Dog and Leave your Mark" Chapter 10: "Ezine Advertising: Other People's Influence" Chapter 11: "Mastermind Groups and Joint Ventures: The Math Equation They Never Taught You in School" Chapter 13: "Teleseminars: Build Your List at the Speed of Sound" Chapter 16: "How to Develop Gushing Rivers of Never-Ending Cash" Chapter 17: "Just Because the Mail Man Delivers Rain or Shine Doesn't Mean Your Email Server Will" Chapter 18: "Curiosity May Kill Cats, But it Gets Readers to Open Your Email" These are just a few techniques that can help with 'Building a List'! Overall, Glen Hopkins does a fine job encompassing all this information in a clear enough style that anyone can understand and put into use. Eric V. This is another of my favorite reference books specific to generating website traffic and repeat business. I've accumulated several books of generalized content that have helped me to put together a marketing campaign for my new business--this is one of them. Any book that gives me at least two bits of valuable advice (that I didn't possess prior to reading it) is well worth the price.
If you want to get started selling ANYTHING through the internet, you need to know how to generate traffic and close a sale. This book will point you in the right direction. Gail Strumberger Author, "Shock Therapy: Planaphobic"

I was thinking whether to give 3 or 4 stars, and decided to give 3 since this book info wasn't that surprisingly new to me. If you are quite new to email marketing, it's ok purchase - and I have no regrets making the purchase.

Terrible - Trite and Unoriginal,

This is one of the worst books on list building I've read. The writing is bad, the ideas are re-hashes of well-known information marketing ideas, and all I kept thinking as I read was "How can I get my 2 hours back?"
If you're interested in building an email list, read "Email Marketing by the Num8ers" or "The Complete Guide to E-mail Marketing." You will be better off. |
