5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For Every Lucy Fan
Honestly, I don't get the other reviewer's comments. The author is not political in the least, except when reporting on how the politics of the 1950s almost affected Lucy's career, during the McCarthy witch hunts. I'm a great Lucy fan myself, and I was fascinated by the tidbits and trivia about her and her I Love Lucy co-stars revealed here. I really loved finding out...

3.0 out of 5 stars Leave politics out of it please
I was anxious to read this book as a big Lucy fan. It was an interesting read until I got to one section where the author had to inject his politics into it, which ruined the book for me. Just keep your mouth shut, please, Lucy kept her politics to herself, why don't you?

I really loved finding out that there was actually an I love Lucy play! This book is fantastic, and Lucy fans will love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for any fan of Lucy!, November 18, 2009
This review is from: Lucy in Print (Paperback)
The only thing political about this book is the coverage of Lucy being tied to the "Red Scandal" and McCarthy hearings of the 1950s. But the author is just reporting on what was written at the time. This is a very enjoyable review of the press and publicity Lucille Ball and her co-stars got as a result of being on the most popular and groundbreaking sitcom of its era. I was especially fascinated by a look at the long-forgotten stage version of I Love Lucy. Nicely done!
