This review is from: Ludi Musici (Audio CD)
Are you wondering if the low price is a mistake? It's not- it is a promotional compilation of the label Alia Vox's catalogue (which the vast majority is made up of recordings by Jordi Savall Hesperion XXI).
The disc is divided by regions, approx four tracks per: "the Orient", Italy, England, France, Germany, Spain and the "New World"- all secular dance music (some with vocals by Montserrat Figueras, but mostly instrumental). Often label compilations seem stilted and incongruous, but not this one. Possibly it is because the disc is all based on a "dance" theme. I already have a dozen or so recordings by Hesperion XXI on Alia Vox. I treasure every single one and this CD is no different. Get it.
