A toast to many a sleepless morning. . .,
By Ryan Bancroft (St. Louis, MO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (Video Game)
This game, in my childhood, was the beacon of wakefullness. I would awaken at 3:30 AM to play for four hours straight until I went to school where I would think about its greatness until I came home, only to play for another few hours. This perfectly describes its pull and incredible execution. The battle system was markedly improved over its limping predecessor, and the storyline served compulsion to the very end. This was a prequel of sorts to Lufia 1, and what a brilliant story it is. I wouldn't want to ruin the story for any prospective buyer, so I won't divulge any details, but take my humble word for it--this game is very worth your money and should be a part of anybody RPG lovers library.

Painfully woe,

This review is from: Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (Video Game)
Well as I talked about in the my review of Lufia, this is what it's all about. Not pretty graphics (which are nice) but a story that graps you. As a prequel you can't get much better. Everything is explained and comes together from the first, things you questioned and wondered about, it's all here. On it's own it's still a great game. A story full of twists and turns. Characters that leave you wondering how much can they take, how far the can go. What will lie down in the dark depths of the next dungeon. That's right, old school, dungeons with staircase imblems. Intersting features that you can releate to in more modern times (equipment that give you special attacks). It's just one of those games that came from a great idea and got made better. Once again a solid game to see where modern day RPG get there heirtage.

Super NES - Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals,
By James B. (Costa Mesa, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (Video Game)
Being an RPG fanatic, I was immediately attracted to this game. In my 12 years of gaming, it is possibly and most likely the BEST game I have ever played! The graphics are outstanding for the console (I love games with more animated looks) and the controls are very easy and quick to learn! The music was composed wonderfully and the storyline! Cool characters, each with their own unique personality, guide you through a magical world in order to save it (sounds cliche, but in this game, it isn't!).The battles are awesome as well! You cannot call yourself a devout lover of fantasy RPG's without owning Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals! GO OUT AND BUY IT TODAY!!!
