Book Description

October 14, 2001
Fascinated by stories of the Battle Britain and how the outnumbered RAF fought and defeated a far superior enemy, the author writes his book from the perspective of the side who's story is usually not told. Twenty years ago Goss started contacting German aircrew who participated in the Battle of Britain. His years of research will show you the battle from a different point of view; the one not always given. You'll understand how it felt to be flying against an enemy who had nothing to lose, and how it felt to be defeated.

4.0 out of 5 stars Personal Accounts From The Battle of Britain, April 24, 2004

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Luftwaffe Fighters' Battle of Britain (Hardcover)
This book pulls together personal accounts of luftwaffe fighter and zerstoerer pilots from the Battle of Britain. While the books attempts to focus on the luftwaffe it also contains many RAF accounts and pits both sides of the story together of individual fighter engagements from the battle. The result is a personal, and harrowing account of the battle showing the intensity and sacrifice at which it was fought. The author also summarises within these personal accounts the overall picture of the day(s) fighting that helps put things back into a strategic perspective. The end result is an enthralling account of the Battle of Britain supplemented with many photographs that is hard to put down. I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the Battle of Britain and would like to note that there is a further book by the same author along the some theme 'The Luftwaffe Bombers' Battle of Britain'.
