5.0 out of 5 stars very pretty glasses
A few months ago I received these and the smaller 12.5 oz Luigi glasses. I have to say I love these! They compliment My kitchen so well and look great for whatever occasion. Although I have only had them for a short time I have to say that they seem very durable. I tend to be quite hard on glasses, dishes, and silverware often breaking a lot of them. These have been...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, yet fragile
I was surprised to see the mostly positive reviews of this product, as that has not been my experience. I received 6 of these glasses as a gift, and over the course of 4 months, 2 of them have broken. They seem fine when washed in the dishwasher, but washing them by hand was the problem. If another glass clinked against one of these, it immediately broke. I can be pretty...

5.0 out of 5 stars very pretty glasses, June 29, 2005

A few months ago I received these and the smaller 12.5 oz Luigi glasses. I have to say I love these! They compliment My kitchen so well and look great for whatever occasion. Although I have only had them for a short time I have to say that they seem very durable. I tend to be quite hard on glasses, dishes, and silverware often breaking a lot of them. These have been tipped over more than once and survived the fall. Overall a good buy for your typical water or tea glasses.

For the price, these glasses are great value. They clean well in the dishwasher and, although they don't weigh much, are quite rugged: two have survived drops without a scratch or chip.

Good stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice glasses, February 20, 2006

We loved the styling and the nice weight to these glasses, solid without being cumbersome. They feel very natural in your hand, my wife particularly liked them because she didn't feel like she was carrying a jug.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tall drink glasses for daily use, March 20, 2010

These glasses are great as your regular tall drinking glass. They look stylish, the thin edge makes it a pleasure to drink from, and the glasses have a substantial and well-balanced feel to them. This 14 ounce size is a pretty good volume for those times when you need ice, like with lemonade or a soda. These glasses are a lot sturdier and more durable than they appear, but if you load them into the dish washer too closely and too quickly, they will chip/crack. They also have a tendency to tip over in the dish washer due to the higher center of gravity, so load carefully. Also, if you have hard water in your home (as we do unfortunately), you may start to see water stains and scratches in about 4-5 mos. A way to avoid this is to wash by hand. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and would buy more when the time comes to replace any broken cups.

These are very nice glasses with a quality style. They serve well for everyday glasses. They also looked very nice as water & milk glasses near my fine china at Christmas dinner. The weighted bottom part is crystal clear and solid. When lying face down in the dishwasher, the bottom is flat so the water does not pool during the rinse cycle. They come out unspotted that way bec they dry faster, without that pool of water on the bottom of the glass. The weight in the hand is very nice & they feel like quality. The lip is good, so if you prefer to rest your glasses facing down, they won't get those flea bites you hate. I was so pleased that I bought more glasses from this company.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice glasses with a few minor exceptions, October 24, 2010

Overall these are nice looking glasses, and as another reviewer mentioned, the design really does make a difference; when I've expected I would have chipped the edge of the glass, it didn't chip because it is more rounded. Love that fact. The base is a good weight so I'm not so worried about tipping and spilling. Love that they hold a good capacity and because they are narrow, they take up little cabinet space. In fact, because they look smaller than my other glasses, I actually had to test it out and sure enough they hold the same amount of liquid as my older chipped glasses, and they do, but take up SO much less space than my old set. Only down sides I've found are that because they are narrow on top, when I place them in the dishwasher, unless I use the tines on the dishwasher rack, they easily tip over, and unfortunately the tines on my dishwasher don't really hold them up that well either. Not so much the water pressure that tips them, more so when I'm sliding the rack in or out. So I always have to make sure they are somewhat supported by other glasses that "hold their ground". Also, because they are so clear, with no design or etching or grooves in the glass, fingerprints and lip smudges are much more noticeable than on other glasses I've owned. So beverages look great placed on the table but lose their "glimmer" when actually used. But hey, they ARE dishes, so they DO get dirty. Also, I thought they are a bit pricey for glasses, but I'm still thinking about getting another set because I still like them despite the flaws.

These glasses met all of my expectations. They look nice, they are not fragile (my clumsy girlfriend has certainly knocked them around quite a bit), and they hold a lot of fluid. One of them did get swept from the counter on to our linoleum floor and shattered into a thousand pieces, which wouldn't have been that bad but it was full of water. I don't know if the glass hit the floor at a weird angle or not, but I would recommend these glasses as they are inexpensive for the quality and pleasing to the eye.
