I bought these to go with the 12oz Old Fashond glasses, also of the Strauss line; but these are so narrow [2.5" / side max] as to make the pair look like Mutt & Jeff. It stands at just over 6.5" but somehow, even with it's thick base, it somehow doesn't 'look' quite stable, making it really quite different from its 'mate'.

If you find the accompaning illustration a bit confusing, I'd suggest that the yellow liquid makes the shape seem wider than it is. The "Red" in the middle matches what I 'see' while the wider-seeming 'Red' at the right is probably a diagonal rather than side-on view of this squarish cross-sectioned glass.

Without a dishwasher, cleaning the interiors of such narrow & tall items will be an annoyance.

On the other hand, "She Who Must Be Obeyed" [who was hesitant about the purchase] really likes these and their mate and, as I've said, I do find them somehow intriguing. ANd they do have a 'Quality' feel to them

I just ordered a set of these to go along with an identical set I bought about a year ago (also through Amazon.com). I love these glasses. They are attractive and simple with a nice heft in your hand. Unlike the other reviewer, I have had no problem with them breaking easily. My original set is still intact; I just wanted another four.

They look and feel well-made and they're comfortable to hold. I like them so much that I went and bought extras so I won't have to buy a different set if I break a few glasses and they stop making these.

Bonus - Square glasses pack in well on the top rack of the dishwasher.

I love, love, love these glasses. I have been purchasing and replenishing these for years. Love the rocks size, too. They are sleek and elegant, easy to handle, can hold their own on a formal dining table or out on the deck.

I'm a huge fan of these glasses, and it's a pity they're OOS as I'm writing this review.

As others have said, these aren't round glasses like I they may look like to some. They're square with rounded edges. When I first got these in the mail, I was kind of surprised as I was expecting a glass similar to a Collins Glass.

I have since grown to love these glasses. They're great for drinks. The bottom is nice and thick, but not too thick so you don't have to worry about them getting knocked over like some cheaper drinks. I've already gotten quite a few compliments on these from friends, and I wish I could buy more.

EDIT: Amazon is offering these glasses (With Free Prime/SSS) elsewhere on the site. Just do a quick amazon/google search for the name. $20 for 6 right now.

Love these glasses! I first bought them in 1991! They held up beautifully - though etched due to the hard water were I was living at the time. Purchased them again through Amazon 3 years ago - and have had no problems with them. I love that I can fit many in a small cabinet. Great heft(as stated by previous reviewer). Not at all easily broken - have no clue what the other one was referring to. Great quality and thanks to water softener - no more etching in the dishwasher.

These are great for having a few cocktails with your friends. They're very nice looking and feel great in your hand. I bought several sets and we use them to play "Long island ice tea pong." It's a high stakes variation of beer pong. Due to the smaller mouthed glasses (as compared to solo cups) scoring a goal is fairly difficult, but when you do score, making your opponent slam a long island ice tea is sufficiently rewarding. Also I've experienced no broken glasses or chipping despite high speed impact by ping pong balls.

They are very pretty to look at, but if you look at them, they break.

I bought these as a gift, I didn't realize the glass wasn't round. It looked more like a square?
