Ghirri was producing his color photographs around the same time as Eggleston but both were working independently of each other. It's interesting to see that Ghirri had a similar sensibility but all of his photographs are in Europe. They are wonderful to look at and if you like William Eggleston's work then this is highly recommended. A well printed book from Aperture.

I bought this book as a birthday present for my sister. But I think I'm going to get another copy for my own collection.
This is contemporary photography, shots of an open door or an empty kitchen... But as the photographer says in the title, he manages to capture the beauty of place, mundane but beautiful. I am impressed. He is an ingenious photographer.

I bought this book back in 2009 and it is still one my favorite monographs. It has a fantastic rhythm to it, and his photographs are so incredibly unique and original. If you like William Eggleston, Rinko Kawauchi, Philip Lorca Dicorcia, Adam Bartos, Alec Soth, etc... you should have this in your library.

It's a great gift for a young photographer/art lover/whoever. He is relatively unknown for how important he is...

The cover is great, but I would recommend googling some images! He has a wonderfully diverse body of work that has a great muted palette.

I love this book and keep going back to it. It is very inspiring and has given me much to think about. I also am enjoying the text with the pictures.
