I was excited to see a book for kids about the Luiseno Indians from southern California, but I wish I had not bought it. The author did little to no research for this book. Most of the photographs are of people of another tribe located near this one, and as I read I got the distinct feeling that the author just changed a few words and incorrectly made the assumption that the tribes were close enough that no one would notice. Wrong. The one picture of actual Luiseno Indians is even misidentified as being at Pala reservation even though the uncut picture itself identifies it as being taken at Pechanga (another reservation he fails to mention).
