Brazilian Country music...maybe Folk...,
This review is from: Luiz Gonzaga & Fagner (Audio CD)
Excellent to have a collection from Luiz Gonzaga, one of Brazil's legends.
To clarify, and in response to the 2003 review, Forró does not have its roots in North American Country music. It originated in culturally rich and economically poor Northeastern Brazil, where Luis Gonzaga was born. See Mika Kaurismaki's well-done and highly-recommended documentary, Moro No Brasil, for a wonderful exploration of the richness in musical styles that part of South America brings.

Excellent Collection,
By A Customer
This review is from: Luiz Gonzaga & Fagner (Audio CD)
There are several medleys in this collection, a complet tour of gonzaga's work.Funny Lyrics, delivered in the accent of the northwestern country which is no longer as proniounced nowadays. Forro has roots in American Country music, as documented, and animated Brazilain Quadrilles can be danced to this.
