Salomon Rossi Gem, January 19, 2001

The real gem on this disc is the Salomon Rossi Suite. This relatively unknown Renaissance composer is given a fresh interpretation through Lukas Foss' arrangement. The movement for harp and timpani is especially attractive, but the entire Suite shows how a contemporary vision of older music can be a truly engaging listening experience.
