Kindle Edition...clunky, November 20, 2010
In the world of e-books, some do not translate well to kindle. This is one of them. I'm sure the book is excellent with great material...i just found it hard to find information on specific passages. I do not think these commentaries function well on Kindle.

Excellent Basic Study of Luke, February 10, 2012
This review is from: Luke (MacArthur Bible Studies) (Paperback)
Luke, the only Gospel writer who was not Jewish, tells the story of Jesus from a perspective unlike any other. As a physician, Luke presents a detailed account of Jesus's conception and birth. As a meticulous historian, Luke highlights Jesus's parables, teachings, healings, and compassion for the outcasts of Israel.
Luke's story follows Christ on His journey to the cross, recounts His last days that led to His crucifixion and burial, and documents Christ's victory over the grave. From the beginning of Jesus's public ministry to the Lord's final words, Luke stresses Jesus's willingness to go to the cross to complete His ultimate mission--to be the Savior of all the world.
This 12-week study by John MacArthur provides an excellent guide to access the entire Gospel of Luke. Each study offers a consistent approach including questions to help you "draw near," a context for the passage to be studied, and then the passage itself provided in the NKJV version. Alongside of the text is a glossary of important terms. This allows the reader to pause to consider the meaning of key words but does not hinder the flow of the text.
As with any true Bible study, much time is spent reading and examining the text itself--the Word of God. In this way, the student does not first encounter his or her own opinion or "feelings," but rather discerns what God is saying through the Word.
After the reading of the text, the student is asked to consider a series of questions designed to ensure that you understand what the text says and means. Following that, a "Going Deeper" section offers readings from other passages of Scripture that add a comparison for you to consider.
You continue by exploring the meaning further as discussion questions continue. Finally, you apply what you've learned, what you've heard from God, to your life today. As you reflect on the text and consider its truth for today, you will grow in faith and deeper in relationship (Love!) with Jesus who is the Savior of the world.
We highly recommend this study by John MacArthur. It is well written, concise and accessible for all levels of learning and faith.
