Keri Noble EPK

Biography

Given her roots in Detroit, it would be easy to assume that Keri Noble grew up in the ‘80s surrounded by the rich musical history and culture of the Motor City. But things were not quite that way.

The daughter of a Christian pastor in a small, Spanish-speaking church on Detroit’s southwest side, Noble was raised in a strict household where secular music was generally frowned ... Read more in Amazon's Keri Noble Store

Editorial Reviews

A wonderful piano-based singer-songwriter you've never heard, originally hailing from the Detroit area herself. Keri's comparable to Sarah McLaughlan and Tori Amos but has a more traditionally beautiful voice. Introspective music with strong vocals. Lullaby, her studio album, is a must-listen.

I had the thrill of seeing Keri in concert back when she used to play at the "Grand Cafe" in downtown Farmington, Michigan. She played mostly just piano with her voice floating on top of it. This album illustrates her earlier style -- intimate setting, mostly just piano with her beautiful voice literally singing a "lullaby" over the music.

The CD begins with "Have You Seen Me Lately?" and finishes with "Four Candles." She is a lot more spiritually-based on this CD than her newer one. She refers to her "Father" and basically just life experiences. She talks about seeing her friends go through rough times and feeling helpless, her family, feeling lost, and being strong through it all. The lyrics are deep and passionate; the music is intense in some parts and soothing in others.

The title track, "Lullaby" really does what it says -- it sings you to sleep. The lyrics include, "Heavy eyes, go to sleep, I'll pray your soul he'll keep. Dream of oceans and a white sand beach; when you wake up love here I'll be..." The song is so relaxing and guarenteed to relieve a stressful day.

Unfortunately for those waiting to purchase the CD, I'm not willing to part with it because Keri signed the cover for me way back when it first came out.

Bottom Line: If you want to hear Keri doing deeper, more passionate, and more piano-based music, you need to find a copy of this CD!

Hello all. I was introduced to Keri Noble by a friend and since then I've been extremely infatuated with her work. She has the most beautiful voice. It's so peaceful. Her "Lullaby" album is absolutely amazing. It's so peaceful that you could fall asleep listening to it. Just listen to the music and hear her voice; you'd swear you heard an angel.

Here are the lyrics to my favorite song, "Father, Father"

(Piano Intro)

The world just got bigger all in one night

The ground feels a little shakey

Will I be alright?

I don't know, I don't know

On my knees at your feet

I am at your throne

Father I'll hear the angels sing

And I feel so alone

And I see

What I see and love

(Chorus Follows)

Father, father hold me

Closer even tighter

Father I'm afraid to fall

Make the dark a little lighter

Father, father make it stop

All this pain inside

Father hold me now

In your arms is the only place I hide

Hold me in your arms

Hold me in your arms

I made a big mistake

I just didn't think

I thought I did what seemed right

God, I just didn't think

And I was wrong

I was so wrong

A canopy of dark sky high above my head

There's no fear to lead me

And my heart still says, 'Hold me now. Hold me now.
