Lulu Powers Food to Flowers: Simple, Stylish Food for Easy Entertaining

After throwing a successful get together this afternoon, I just had to write a review! I hosted my book club for lunch and made the Mini Wild Mushroom Risotto Cakes, Spinach & Asiago Cheese Sandwiches (kind of like mini grilled cheeses -I added prosciutto to mine) and the Grilled Citrus Chicken and Brown Rice Salad and I couldn't believe how much my hard-to-impress girlfriends just raved about the food -everything was so flavorful and yummy and was beyond simple to make. I bought the book after seeing Lulu on the Today show and I'm so happy that I did -she has lots of great ideas that are so simple to execute but your guests will think you were slaving away all day. Her style is really approachable and I really like that she encourages you to use what you have and make every recipe your own -it's not about being perfect like Martha, it's about being able to have memorable moments with your guests. Lulu has lots of stories about her family and friends in the book and reading it makes you feel like she's one of your girlfriends letting you in on the secrets of being an excellent host. The book is full of beautifully styled photographs and many clever tips -I love her suggestion of making your own specialty ice cubes with fresh fruit and herbs on page 79 -something so simple makes even basic sparkling water feel special. I can't say enough how much I've enjoyed this cookbook so far and I just can't wait to try some of the other recipes! This is definitely going to be my go-to gift for Mother's Day, birthdays and engagements. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed!!

Fabulous book for the "every-once-in-a-while' cook and entertainer. Never read (yes I mean READ from cover to cover) a book that made me want to throw a party right away! Every tip,every recipe, every memorable story about Lulu and her wonderful,entertaining and loving family made this an actual page turner---something I have never experienced with a cook book. I keep opening it up and planning my next small social, the next big family gathering, the next birthday party. I have already ordered copies for all the cooks in my family and plan to order more as gifts for my friends and business colleagues!!

This book is amazing and so much FUN!!! It will definitely be my "go to" gift for friends. I was up so late last night combing through it page by page-- I love the photography, recipes, fun and special anecdotes, graphics, colors, entertaining tips, all of it!! It's really wonderful. I can't wait to make so many of the recipes in it, especially those cinammon sensations and Stevie's spicy blood mary's. Lulu really knows how to create a wonderful party while making it fun and unique. The book is a must have in anyone's cookbook/entertaining library!

I just bought this book last night because it was so beautiful. My wife and I made breakfast this morning for us and our 2 kids using 3 of the recipes!! SO easy to make with ingredients that we had in our cupboard. We made the cheesy eggs, the maple bacon and the blueberry pancakes. The food was so good, so easy to make and we didn't even have to go out to the store to buy anything. We are looking forward to making so many more of the recipes. This woman, Lulu Powers, is very cool. I'm buying another copy of this book to give to my mother for Mother's Day.

Get this book, it really is very neat with great tips.

I find so many books overwhelming and hard to plan an easy dinner party with.

First of all, the pictures and little side notes to this cookbook are amazing! I can easily get an idea of what each recipe is like with a picture that captures the eye and a unique food pallet! i love to host parties but when i do i get stressed and dont know what to do. WHen i looked through lulu's cook book i found the checklist in back of her book. It was such a relief that i no longer had to worry if i was missing anything during a party. i am so excited to have my next party so i can use some of lulu's recipes and party ideas. This cook book is a must for everyone. Cooks or not cooks. GO AND BUY THIS NOW!!!!!

The title of the book says it all. Not only does does Lulu make entertaining EASY, but the recipes are SIMPLE to follow, STYLISH in presentation but above all absolutely delicious. The steak marinade will become my go-to marinade. I made it Saturday night to rave reviews. We entertain quite frequently and the book provides some great ideas. I especially love the "Cheat Sheet" in the back. She makes you think of things before the party and not during it. A MUST for anyone who entertains or is ready to start entertaining. I will be giving this book as housewarming presents, for bridal showers and hostess gifts for years to come. It is always good to have a signature gift and I have just found mine.

I just received my copy of Lulu Power's book Food to Flowers and I give it a big thumbs up. Her approach is always chic and sophisticated yet approachable and easy for anyone to conquer. She gave me great ideas for my next brunch and daughter's birthday. She brings the classics back with a fresh approach. I see a Martha Stewart/Barefoot Contessa Empire in her future. I have tried two recipes and they were easy and delicious. The book is also beautiful to look at and an easy read, and to top it off I love her personal style and die for all her outfits in the book. Pick it up you won't be disappointed! I have a new food crush.

This book has the most amazing recipes and ideas. i bought this book and i have made one to two recipes everyday. the recipes are easy and so wonderful. I made the Ritz Tomato soup and had 4 servings in one day with a lovely glass of pinot grigio. I felt like i died and gone to heaven. My 5 year old son Massimo loved the soup and dipped a grilled cheese into the soup and said, i have made pizza soup.The book has amazing tips and i also love the many wonderful stories of the recipe.The photos makes me feel like i am at your party.. I will be giving this book to my mamma for mothers day. This is a must have book for anyone for loves to have fun cookin for friends or just for one.. LULU, this is my favorite cookin book.. Thank You for creating such a wonderful book.....i think your dogs are cute tooo
