Product Description

The best brand of glow sticks on the market. You will receive 1 tube of 100 Lumistick brand luminescent light bracelets. Each tube contains an even mix of 5 colors -- Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Pink. Your order will also contain 100 connectors so you can hook the ends together to make bracelets and necklaces. Once they start glowing, Lumistick brand glow bracelets will last you all night. They will glow super bright for 8 - 10 hours. Then, they will start to fade out but may continue to emit some light for up to 36 hours. These Lumistick brand glow bracelets are fresh from the factory. They were manufactured just a few weeks ago and guaranteed to be fresh when you receive them. Can't use them all in one night? They have a shelf life of 2 years prior to activation. Inside the glow bracelets are two chemicals that emit light or glow when they are mixed together. When you bend it for the first time, you break an inner tube. This mixes the two chemicals together. Just shake it up and presto -- it starts glowing like magic! Lumistick brand glow products are non-toxic. They are not radioactive and they are not flammable. The almost never break open, but if they do, the chemicals inside Lumistick brand glow products can be washed off skin and clothes with ordinary soap or detergent.

We use these with our 3-year old as reward fun at bedtime for helping with bath, PJs, etc. He loves them. So far, we have only had one "dud" out of the package of 100, and we have used almost all of them in the package. I was afraid the failure rate would be higher, but I have been pleasantly surprised.

The price is certainly reasonable for these. I've found them to be bright enough in darkness, but barely visible in indoor lighting. The colors are bright and pure. The light output is adequately bright for a couple of hours, and progressively dimmer but still obvious for several hours more.

I found them to be easy to snap, but they seem to be constructed with many internal "segments", each of which must be snapped for the entire length to glow. I've found that the best way to do it is to hold one end between thumb and forefinger, and with the thumb and forefinger of the other hand, starting at the same end, bend/snap gradually along the length to the other end. Think of squeezing toothpaste from a nearly empty tube, which curls as you squeeze.

BUT! As some of the other reviews have said, be careful to neither bend the tube too sharply while doing this, nor to squeeze too hard. The tube is prone to cracking at the end and leaking if you do.

Hence, I would be cautious giving one of these to a small child to do for themselves, and I'd probably supervise rambunctious older children too.

At this price, it's a fair gimmick for a party or doling out an occasional nighttime treat for a child. Just have realistic expectations about what 12 cents apiece buys you. :-) And supervise smaller children carefully with them.

I bought these in anticipation of giving them out in the party favor bags for my son's birthday. They've been sitting in a box on the floor since they arrived a couple of weeks ago. We have radiant (floor) heating, but it hasn't been that cold, and we have the thermostat set at 65 degrees, so I really don't think that they've been ruined by storing them on the floor until now.

Anyway, yesterday afternoon I got them out to show my son who is excited about his birthday coming up this weekend. The first one that I pulled out seemed fairly dim after I activated it. When I bent it around my own wrist it burst open spewing it's dim glow-in-the-dark substance all over my shirt. I rinsed the shirt out with cold water and threw it into the washer on soak cycle, and, thankfully, the stuff came out with no lasting stain on the shirt.

I thought that the first stick was just a bad one so I activated another one and wrapped it around my son's wrist. Twenty minutes later I heard him scream from another room in the house. According to my son, he had taken off the bracelet and put then put it back on, on, off, on off a couple of times. Then it exploded all over the couch and carpet, just like the first one had done all over my shirt. Again, thankfully, I was able to clean up the mess with only some cold water and scrubbing of the upholstery and carpet.

However, I told my son that we can not give these out to his party guests. We are two for two with bad sticks. I can't risk that they won't burst open and splash some kid in the eye with the normal wear and tear they are going to receive from rowdy third graders.

Were they ruined by the two weeks sitting on the floor? I don't know. Even if that's what happened, they score a zero in my book for durability.

I received a package with a sticker saying Lumistick hastily applied over the label of a Chinese product called Ruieguang. I am sending it back, but a quick google search showed that they are very poorly made and have exploded, injuring children. NOT what I am going to hand out on Halloween.

Well, I ordered the bracelets for a school dance we were organizing. They were fun, great colors, easy to use. I would be very happy if they didn't start leaking. About an hour after use, they started popping and all that glowy stuff was all over. Eeeew is right.

So, its an okay product, but we weary of leaks.

This order was quite disappointing. I ordered these to surprise friends that I was going to a concert with, but well over half of these refused to glow. Wouldn't recommend anybody purchasing these.

I purchased these for a cruise friends and I were going on. More than half of them didn't work. The ones that did work either glowed lightly or had entire parts that didn't work.

These things are absolutely worthless. Listen to the other reviewers. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

Avoid the Lumistick brand at all costs.

I must have gotten a crappy batch. I'd say only about 1 in 5 were "decent" which means they lit up for most of the stick and were a good brightness. Many (most) only lit up a tiny fraction of the stick and some didn't even light at all... so because of the better reviews, I can only assume the ones I got were lower quality or from a bad batch. They also did not come in a container that looks like the one in the photos that someone supplied... and yes, I cracked them the length of the stick and shook them vigorously, but shaking didn't help much.
