Great for newcomers, but nothing new for Lumines veterans,

You may remember Lumines as being a superb puzzle game for the PSP a couple years back. Since then, it's received a sequel on Sony's portable system, and now two years later, it makes an appearence on the PS2. I'll start off by saying that if you played or own the original Lumines game for the PSP that there is nothing here you haven't seen or played before. That being said, if you've never played Lumines in any of it's previous incarnations, you'll find a highly enjoyable puzzler here. The game uses the basic match the blocks style to great effect with some sharp visuals, but the game's music soundtrack is what's even more worth noting. Featuring a superb dance-esque soundtrack that will have you nodding your head to the beat while you play, Lumines Plus manages to go above and beyond the standards set by typical console puzzlers. There are also different modes of play like a time attack mode and versus modes as well, but nothing else here that hasn't been seen before in other Lumines games. What really would have been a nice addition to the game would have been some online capabilities though. I know the PS2 is on it's way out, but this feature would have been more than welcome. That aside, if you've never played Lumines in any form before, Lumines Plus is a very fun, and cheap, pick up for the PS2 that you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of, but if you've been to Lumines land before, there's not much reason to go back again unless you want it to play on your console too.

A bit disappointing,

Well honestly I bought this game because I was looking for a game that would be a Tetris equivalent. It is not. If you are looking for Tetris...Don't buy this. From the picture on the box I thought it would be, but don't be fooled. If you like bright flashy lights and techno music...you might like this game. All you do is drop squares made of 2 different colors on eachother...The point is to get a box of the same color, so it can disappear. So yeah...needless to say it was definately disappointing for me. So I thought I would let everyone else know, just incase they were like me and searching for a Tetris type game for the Playstation 2 console.
