The Luminox 3001.BO is the smaller brother of the 3051.BO, both of which I have. I like them both. The 3001 face is smaller (28mm) than the 3051 (33mm) although the case is only 43mm compared to 44mm for the 3051. Band width of the 3001 is 22mm versus 23mm for the 3051 (NOT 35mm as in the specs on the Amazon site).

I do not like the Luminox stock rubber bands and have always bought replacement Hadley-Roma stiched silicone bands for all my Luminox watches. The 24mm bands fit the 3051 nicely (just a little squeeze works) and the 22mm bands are exact fits for the 3001.

I love the Blackout series of Luminox watches. Very elegant, beautiful, subtle, and understated. But the main thing I love about them is that you can read the hands in ANY light condition, bright daylight, dusk, even total darkness, due to the tritium light vials implanted in the dial. You don't need to see the actual number positions. I gave up on standard luminous dials a long time ago. Don't know why watchmakers bother with standard luminous hands anymore.

If you have small wrists, the 3001.BO might be better, although, as I said before, the dial is smaller but the case is only 1mm smaller than the 3051. Kind of an optical illusion. Also the hands and date are larger on the 3051. If you can't make up your mind, do as it did and buy them BOTH.

The Luminox 3001.BO is a very nice watch. I like the smaller size (42mm) and the blackout look. The watch arrived in perfect condition. Everything works. The blue glow at night is very cool.

For those of you worried about the warranty from WatchSavings, don't be. It is just as good as the Luminox original warranty,. Maybe even better based on all the negative reviews about Luminox customer service. For the price point you getting this watch (44% off retail) the identical Watchsavings warranty is the better deal. The Luminox original warranty is not that great to begin with. So why pay retail? The Luminox warranty does not cover physical damage on the watch such as the crystal, case, bezel, etc. It also takes (per other reviews) Luminox weeks if not months to fix anything wrong with your watch. If your watch is lost you are better off buying another Luminox at 44% off retail. Luminox quality is very good but their customer service needs improvement.

Lets face it the Luninox 3001.BO watch is not a good dive watch (does not meet ISO 6425 dive watch requirements) and you should avoid water. Also, the crystal is mineral and not sapphire. You will have to be a little careful with it. For the price point of under $200 you can't beat it. If you need a real dive watch or a sapphire crystal you will have to pay a lot more. The Luminox Deep Dive 1500 (meets ISO 6425 dive watch requiements) is a real dive watch with a sapphire crystal. The Luminox Deep Dive 1500 will cost you $2000.00 retail (around $984 on Amazon).

For civilian use I think the under $200 Luninox 3001.BO will be just fine.

I bought this watch in December of 2012. I have not abused it or even gone diving with it. It slowly stopped rotating as of the last week of March, 2013. So, I figured it was the battery. I had the battery replaced. It ran for a few days, then started to slow down. It has not completely stopped but it is useless as a timepiece. I am greatly disappointed as I was sure this would be a heavy duty watch and seeing as I've only used it as a casual watch up to this point I find this unacceptable. 3 months use out of a $300 watch is pathetic. I cannot return this watch to Amazon because it is past their return policy time limit. Teelys, who sold the watch... well I can't seem to get in touch with them. The watch did not come with an international warranty card so I cannot have luminox fix it. I'll see if I can find a local authorized dealer who can find out what's wrong with it. I'll probably just trash it and get a crap watch at walmart.

I wore this watch for a solid week on vacation along the Riviera Maya, spending a lot of time in the water (to depths no greater than ~15 ft.). On the fourth day, while Jet Skiing off the beach in hot sun, I noticed the watch face had fogged. The watch continued to function, and the face cleared over the next few hours, but this was surprising (and disappointing) to me for a "200m" watch.

This is a great watch and better looking than in the images. I like this better than the 3051.bo. However, the glow in the 3001.bo is blue which is a bit dim compared to the green glow the 3051.bo has. But, this watch looks beautiful and can be worn for all occasion.

I usually buy my watches from Wal-Mart. This Luminox watch is the most expensive watch I have ever owned. So, I had high expectations for this watch...(yes, I know it isn't a Rolex).
I was very happy when the watch showed up. The packaging was very impressive. It comes with a Luminox case for the watch.
The watch is very light weight. The rubber watch band is surprisingly comfortable. It isn't as thick or stiff as I had imagined. If the watch moves on your arm, the rubber feels smooth against your arm and doesn't pull your arm hair.
The glow from the watch at night is very clear but not excessively bright.
I am a pretty sedentary person. I certainly am not the kind of guy that is pushing the limits of what this watch should endure. However, I have many scratches on the dial window of my watch after having the watch for little more than a month. The scratches, which are limited to the dial window, really stand out. I have no idea what came in contact with the watch to cause these scratches. I have also never had a watch that attracted so many scratches, though I would assume my much cheaper watches were constructed of cheaper materials.
So, I have very little to say about this watch that isn't positive. However, it is difficult to fully appreciate the positive aspects of this watch when it looks prematurely old as a result of a dial window that scratches very easily.
If you want a Luminox, it might be worth the extra money to get a Luminox with the sapphire crystal dial window.
