Product Description

As a supplier of military watches for the u.s. Navy seals and u.s. Air force, luminox watches are designed to handle any sort of environment at any given moment. Luminox expanded the collection to include an entire line of watches of many types and styles created for the active consumer, the sportsman, law enforcement and military groups. The advantage of a luminox in comparison to other watches is its glow-in-the-dark capability. Every luminox watch uses a self-powered system of illumination powered by very small gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules). These allow the watch to glow continuously for 25 years while having a much brighter illumination system. Luminox watches need no external light source to "charge" the point on the dial or hands in order to glow as do conventional luminous watches. Nor do they require the push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electroluminescence. Being able to read the watches in any conditions, even in total darkness, is an important requirement of many military and law enforcement agencies.

Luminox lists this watch as a unisex watch so it is not exclusively for women. I am a man and my wrist is just under 7 inches around. I wear this watch on the fourth to last set of holes on the strap. If your wrist is around 7 inches or so this will fit you fine. The watch is very light, easy to read, and looks amazing. If you want a Luminox Colormark but dont want a huge 45mm case on your wrist go with this and I assure you that you will not be disappointed.

I have had this watch for less than 1.5 years now. The 20mm rubber band has cracked and is disintegrating from merely daily wear. Replacement bands are nearly 50$ with shipping. It's disappointing to say the least.

The Amazon description lists this as a 40mm case, in reality it is a 38mm case. Reviewers state that this watch can be worn by a man... only if you are a small framed man with tiny wrists. Overall only buy this watch if you are a woman that has average wrist size less than 7". No fault here on behalf of the product only the description by Amazon and its reviewers.

    *UPDATE*

I cant say enough good things about the way Amazon handled this...they issued a refund immediately and also paid for me to ship this item back! I am very impressed with their customer service and I will now look to Amazon for my online purchases 1st!

Usually have good luck with internet purchases but this watch has been the exception. I knew Amazon was not an authorized retailer for Luminox so there would be no warranty. I expected a quality watch at this price point and did not expect to need service right away. The watch was a gift so by the time it was opened my return window with Amazon had closed and they did not offer any help whatsoever when the watch was found to be defective. The watch runs for a while and then stops. I have tried two battery replacements but no luck. Local watch repair could not fix. It is currently on it's way to the only authorized Luminox watch repair facility in the US. I will end up paying dearly for buying seconds from an unauthorized retailer. I strongly suggest buying from an authorized retailer if you really want this watch. On a positive note my wife likes the fit and feel of the watch.

If you're an ultralight backpacker you probably will appreciate this watch. Rotating bezels are hard to find on lightweight watches and this one works very well.

Pro: Great illumination with the fail proof Tritium markers--superior to "Indiglo" watches, 1.6 ounces, waterproof, the black looks really really cool. If your wrist circumference is <7" this "women's model" should fit you. Well designed and has a very tough wrist strap. Rotating bezel makes a reliable timer. To use bezel as a hour marker when hiking just rotate the bezel/marker (it glows too!) to the hour hand position at the start of hike. Hours hiked are thus easy to see.

Con: If you want this lighter weight version and have a large (>7") wrist you will need to replace the band.

I purchased this "Spec-Ops" watch for my daughter, she completely loved it.

PROS: it all black, light weight, and tells the time. (very nice bezel and compass options)

CONS: the numbers are also black, very dimly lit in the night and hard to read.

-Good entry level watch, great rubber band for the ocean, resilient to weather.

I wear this watch, since it was a part of NAVSOC training, love it...light weight and dark.

Yes, if you are looking for a Black Ops time piece then look no further.

I have a small wrist so this watch is just right for me. What makes this a "lady's"watch is the short band. It is ultralightweight and comfortable and beautiful. We like it a lot. The caseback is engraved with the Navy Seal logo. Check out the Luminox web site for more info on battery life etc. Great watch for the price. Check out the Mondaine Watch site too. It and Luminox have merged. They offer a couple neat tritium models with striking designs (we bought one). Excellent quartz timekeeper.

Purchased as a Valentin gift for my wife. She needed a rugged, but good quality watch. This watch is just that. The all black design has an 'SR-71' like look. Lamps are bright, workmanship is true Swiss quality. The carbon fiber construction feels 'cheap" at fist look, but the quality and durability it offers becomes obvious on a second look. It is large for a ladies watch, but not outrageous. My wife is a petite 5'3" and the watch still looks normal/natural on her wrist.

I purchased this as a field watch. However, I like this watch so much I wear it casually as well.
I have very small wrists (6.5) and have difficulty finding watches that fit. I also wanted a watch I could see at a glance in low or no light without lamping.

This is definitely a women's watch. The dial fits my wrist perfectly as does the band which is quite soft and pliable, making it comfortable to wear 24-7. The tritium dial is excellent and bright. This is the first watch I have ever owned that has a bezel you can actually use!
The black on black is quite nice. Overall, this is a watch that does not disappoint. As a woman, I am used to having a watch face that is smaller in comparison to my wrist. This watch has a large face and yet, it is very appropriate and looks sharp.
