I probably own about 12 watches, and this one is my favorite. Here are the reasons:
- Swiss made - Very accurate - Very lightweight - Very durable - Crystal is tough and doesn't scratch easily - VERY easy to see at night and in low light - The band has enough holes close together to fit anyone's wrist - It just looks really good and the design is cool - It is a "military watch", designed to military specs. (the Seals have the reputation of testing things til they break, so you know if they ordered it, it is tough). There are some very minor downsides to these watches: - Battery life is only 4 years, and I heard it can be hard to get a replacment. The back of the watch has tiny phillips screws, so your local jeweler might not have the tools and might have to "send it in", and I heard that service is not that great at Luminox. (note that some of the heavier Luminox Seal watches have the traditional "unscrew it" back, which is far easier to install a battery in, I think). - the time setting pin is not screw-down. This actually doesn't bother me at all, but some "purists" like the screw-down ones. The watch is good to 200 meters underwater, so that is not an issue.

I have owned a Navy Seals watch for 11 years now. It is a company logo model that was given to me by a VP for some special work I did. Because it is a logo model, and a gift, it is important to me to keep it around.
It is without a doubt the best everyday watch I have ever owned. I love my TAGs and my Omegas but for everyday wear I choose my Navy Seals watch. Why? Well for one reason no matter how late, or how dark my bedroom is I can tell the exact time to the second without my eyeglasses. I can't do that with my TAGs or my Omega. Secondly it is damn near indestructible. I regularly wear it working on my house or on cars. The face is almost scratch proof. I did break one of the ears off of the case once. Luminox service replaced the case for a nominal fee. I was worried that I would not get back my logo face, but no worries, it came back just fine. Bottom line is for casual wear this watch rocks.

a sweet watch,
This watch is very comfortable...and just the right weight...the dial is very bright and easy to read...I have only had it a few months, but I like it very much...I would buy others as gifts for friends or family..

My husband got this watch for Father's Day and loves it! The dial always glows becasue it dosen't rely on a flouresence glow powered by light which fades after a few hours leaving your watch face dark. This one actually never fades so you can read it all the time.

I have owned a number of "sports" watches in the past, to include several versions of the G-Shock and Oakley brands. All have had their problems, most notably that they require substantial studying of the manual to learn all the functions. If what you want is a high quality no-frills sports timepiece that can take a beating, the Luminox is it. The tritium markers at the hours glow brightly at night without having to search for a button. And a great look to it as well.

Back in service after second repair,

Great design and utility for military folks like me. However, the stem broke as I was setting the time and watch rendered useles (hands disengaged from mechanism and not moving) after less than two years of intermittent use. Not the quality I expected from Luminox. Also just called Luminox service center (only one for USA is in Rhode Island) and found out that Amazon.com is not an authorized dealer, so my two year warranty is not valid. Not happy and not finished with this yet. Update: Amazon provides their own warranty for watches like this that are sold "gray market" without manufacturer warranty. You have to hunt for this information, but I finally got a phone number for Amazon's watch warranty department and was able to ship this item off to a third-party repair shop and get it fixed. One of the hands came loose two weeks later, and I had to send it back again to the same shop for a second repair. I have it back now and it appears to be working, but now I think I am beyond any further warranty, and I am a bit doubtful about the watch's quality.

I've been using Luminox watches for the past 15 years with pretty good results. it's a good watch for surfing. Unfortunately, my recent purchase of the subject watch is disappointing. The watch lasted for 5 days before it suddenly stopped working. It could be the battery or a multitude of issues...bottom line...it's dead. Anyway, after hasseling with all the return paperwork, I finally mailed it to the Luminox repair service yesterday. The warranty should cover (less than 30 days), but it cost me an additional $20 to place in the mail (including return mail expense). I realize these things occasionally happen, but it's still frustrating.

DO NOT BUY A LUMINOX.,
This review is from: Luminox Men's 3013 Original Navy SEAL Dive Watch (Watch)
I have had this watch for a year and a half. It has never worked for more than a few months in a row. It literally has fallen to pieces. I have never brought the watch under a substantial amount of water (only a swimming pool), nor subjected it to any other kind of significant stress. I would advise against purchasing any Luminox watch.
