I highly recommend this pen for writing on CDs and DVDs which you have burned. It is alcohol-based, rather than acetone-based, so it is less harsh on the CD plastics.

Staedtler Lumocolor pens are great. In this case, the phrase "always bet on black" readily applies. Weather and field proof, long-lived, and perfect for practicing penmanship if you're ever forced to study Japanese. Rain or shine, this will pretty much outlast any other semi-permanent marker pen.
