5.0 out of 5 stars My wife's favorite flavor; favorite place to buy them
We discovered Luna Bars at a grocery store recently when they were on sale for a dollar apiece. We bought one of each kind to see which ones we like best. We figured for that price how could we go wrong. Well after trying all of them, my wife has weighed in...

HER FAVORITE: Chocolate Pecan Pie.

3.0 out of 5 stars Comments about Chai Tea flavor
The dominant flavor of the Chai Tea bars is Cardamom. Although it contains tea, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, etc., they have not really balanced the flavors, and you will likely notice only the cardamom flavor. If you're thinking this bar will taste like tea, forget it. Emphasis strongly on the word Chai, not Tea. (Chai tea is flavored with cardamom and other spices.) If...

HER FAVORITE: Chocolate Pecan Pie.

She loves Chocolate. She lives on Chocolate. And since we're on a diet similar to Body for Life and has a hard time stomaching the whey-filled protein bars, these are a welcome treat. They aren't overloaded with protein, but for the calories are extremely comparable to the leading protein bars (in a calorie-protein ratio comparison). Our only complain with the bars is that they're a little high in fat, especially saturated. Nevertheless, they are much, much better than most other treats out there.

Now, where to buy? Well Amazon of course. It is great. Amazon is the same price as local stores when they are on sale except Amazon provides free shipping and no tax (not to mention no driving to the grocery store or healthfood store) so they actually end up being cheaper on here everyday than elsewhere on sale. We always buy all of our drinks and bars on Amazon. A word of caution though, be careful which Amazon vender you buy from. Vitamin Shoppe is usually the cheapest but sometimes direct from Amazon is comparable. The other venders tend to be more expensive. Hope this helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars You wouldn't know it's good for you!, September 6, 2004
I admit I have somewhat of a sweet tooth, but since I am lactose intolerant there aren't many candy bars I can eat. I am also into healthy food so the Luna Bars are a good compromise. Don't let the fact you're a guy stop you- these are marketed towards women (because of the soy craze), there's nothing here that can harm you.

The Dulce flavor is among my favorite flavor (along with Nutz/Pecan and Dreams), having a sort of caramel/"rice crispy treat" taste. Only problem is that I like this flavor so much I tend to eat too many, and they have alot of calories. So don't eat too many unless you are a very active person.

The Clif line are a great help to those of us with health issues, and I commend them for their wonderful products.

5.0 out of 5 stars good and tasty!, December 30, 2007
A daily dose of folic acid, chocolate crispy with peppermint, and only 180 calories! Perfect for breakfast or a snack, and kids love them, too - don't tell them it is good for them!

I ate one a day during my pregnancy and it was a good way to get lots of vitamins and have something easy on the stomach early in the morning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Toasted Nuts 'n' Cranberry Flavor Has No Palm Kernel Oil, September 22, 2006

After reading the review regarding palm kernel oil in all of the Luna Bar flavors, I decided to read all the ingredients for each flavor myself. I noticed that the Luna Bar Toasted Nuts 'n' Cranberry flavor is the only flavor that does not contain palm kernel oil. If you are concerned about palm kernel oil you should purchase this flavor. The toasted nuts 'n' cranberry flavor is delicious, doesn't taste like a candy bar, and has low total and saturated fat gram percentages. Luna Bar Toasted Nuts 'n' Cranberry flavor is one of the better nutrition bars available on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tasting- great snack!, January 10, 2004

For anyone who has not tried these, you won't believe how good they taste. I started eating soy after being diagnosed with colitis 3 years ago. Since then, I've been symptom and medicine free (by eating soy). This bar is a great way to get your soy! It's like eating a candy bar for a snack! Not gritty, or nasty tasting like some of the other bars I've tried. The S'mores flavor is also really good.

This review is from: Luna Bars, Chai Tea, 1.69-Ounce Bars (Pack of 15) (Health and Beauty)
(Chai tea is flavored with cardamom and other spices.) If you don't know what cardamom tastes like, it's one of the staple spices of Indian cooking, comes in pods with small black seeds (which, by the way, are great to drop in a cup of coffee...) I'd advise you to buy a bar somewhere and try it, before you buy a box; some will truly love its exotic, spicy flavor; others may despise it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not too sweet and very satisfying, January 4, 2006
By
The Luna Toasted Nuts n Cranberry is one of my favorite flavors, as it is not as sweet as the other flavors offered by Luna. It has a great nutty texture with a hint of chewy cranberries -- it is a perfect bar to have in the morning, when I do not have enough time to sit down for breakfast.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lemon Zest a little dry, October 23, 2005

It took me a while to even try luna bars because of the packaging, as I tend to avoid anything that is so blatently aimed at 'woman-ness'. Fortunately, I got over that and tried them. They are quite tasty and have little or none of the unpleasant aftertaste that is present with many food bars. Lemon Zest bars are a little drier than other flavors, and the lemony smell may remind some people of lemon-scented household cleaners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good protein bar designed for women, August 2, 2005
I had bariatric surgery. Afterwards, I tried numerous protein bars--they all tasted very bad. I happened upon Luna bars--I saw they were designed for women-and read the contents. They contained more vitamins and minerals than any of the higher priced protein bars, even the ones the bariatric department at the local hospital was pushing. I like most of the flavors--they aren't real sweet, they aren't dry, and there is no after taste. I've lost over 170 lbs and I know it wouldn't have been possible without the Luna bars. They gave me energy, took care of my sweet tooth, and are very convenient. I still took regular multi-vitamins--they don't replace those, just supplement what you are already taking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better tasting & healthier than..., July 29, 2006
By
After ordering windsor pilates they recomend eating energy bars as a snack with no more than 150 calories & 3 grams of fat; Luna for woman was closest to what was recommended having 170-180 calories & under 3 grams of fat. They taste good too. I highly suggest these as a fixer until your next meal.
