Having loved the first book in this Southern Lit Lycanthrope series, I eagerly looked forward to LUNA and it was well worth the wait. Ms. Farago has a real talent for story telling and her clean writing and willingness to steer clear of gore for gore's sake and vivid sex scenes is a breath of fresh air in a genre overridden with trashy pulp (not that there's anything wrong with trashy pulp per se).

I highly recommend reading IVY COLE AND THE MOON before delving into LUNA as many of the characters return. LUNA finds the heroine, Ivy Cole still on the run, constantly on the move as she continues to leave festering carnage wherever she goes. Now she has tagging along with her a daughter, Luna, who has inherited some of her mother's beastly talents. They make a home on the NC coast in a small town and trouble is quick to find them.

This book has mystery, action, adventure, horror, romance and touches on morals as Ms. Farago has woven together a fine book and really has a great thing going with this series.

Highly recommended! Check out the August 2008 issue of The Horror Library for a more in-depth review.

This is book #2 where we are introduced to Ivy's daughter named Luna, whose father was from book #1 "Ivy Cole and the Moon". It was a strange and interesting story, to me it was better than the 1st book. I don't really know how to describe these books except to say it was a very unique way of doing a werewolf story and that the werewolves looked at right & wrong (eating people) a little different than most books. Also, there was no hot & heavy sex scenes like in many paranormal books.

I loved Ivy Cole and the Moon, and was startled at the cliffhanger, but with Luna, I had all my jollies satisfied. I would like to continue to read the series and find out what happens, to Ivy, Luna and Deputy Sanders, but if Ms. Farago isn't writing any more in this series, I will be satisfied with just these two books.

This is the sequel to the novel 'Ivy Cole and the moon' and should not be read before one has read the first of the series since there is a strong connection to events and people in 'Ivy Cole...'.
Ivy had to leave her home and the man she loved when her werewolf-nature got her into trouble with the law. Pregnant when she left, her daughter Luna is now 5 years old and she's quite a handful, especially since she's a werewolf, too, but one who can change without the moon. That's something that makes her interesting to other werewolves who want to get the secret by kidnapping Luna. As if that weren't enough, two people from Ivy's past show up: One who wants revenge, another who wants to win her back - or make her pay for turning him into a werewolf...
Just like 'Ivy Cole and the moon', this werewolf-novel is suspenseful, has interesting characters, atmosphere and some humour. I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend both books without any reservations. I hope that the series will continue.

The second book in the Ivy Cole series picks up 5 years after leaving Doe Springs. Ivy now has a child, Luna and she is a wolf like her mother. Ivy's hoping to make a new start in a new town, put Luna in school and get on with life. However, trouble starts almost immediately after arriving. The neighbor across the street is determined to blame Ivy for everything and is a bit crazy. Ivy meets a new man, Caleb and decides she might fall in love a second time. Meanwhile, Ivy's old love Melvin has a secret of his own now and is determined to find Ivy, but he has no clue that a child has been born. Soon another wolf will join the family, a gift to Luna from Uncle Stefan, a wolf like Auf to protect the child. When Ivy is kidnapped the bad guys revealed are shocking. Ivy will learn a new trick herself and justice will be served.

This book is excellent and a page turner like the first book. I just hope it's not the end.

This book and the first book, Ivy Cole and the Moon, are great werewolf stories. Best to read the first book then Luna.
