A Worthy Sequel,

This review is from: Luna (Paperback)
Having loved the first book in this Southern Lit Lycanthrope series, I eagerly looked forward to LUNA and it was well worth the wait. Ms. Farago has a real talent for story telling and her clean writing and willingness to steer clear of gore for gore's sake and vivid sex scenes is a breath of fresh air in a genre overridden with trashy pulp (not that there's anything wrong with trashy pulp per se).
I highly recommend reading IVY COLE AND THE MOON before delving into LUNA as many of the characters return. LUNA finds the heroine, Ivy Cole still on the run, constantly on the move as she continues to leave festering carnage wherever she goes. Now she has tagging along with her a daughter, Luna, who has inherited some of her mother's beastly talents. They make a home on the NC coast in a small town and trouble is quick to find them. This book has mystery, action, adventure, horror, romance and touches on morals as Ms. Farago has woven together a fine book and really has a great thing going with this series. Highly recommended! Check out the August 2008 issue of The Horror Library for a more in-depth review.

This is book #2 where we are introduced to Ivy's daughter named Luna, whose father was from book #1 "Ivy Cole and the Moon". It was a strange and interesting story, to me it was better than the 1st book. I don't really know how to describe these books except to say it was a very unique way of doing a werewolf story and that the werewolves looked at right & wrong (eating people) a little different than most books. Also, there was no hot & heavy sex scenes like in many paranormal books.

I loved Ivy Cole and the Moon, and was startled at the cliffhanger, but with Luna, I had all my jollies satisfied. I would like to continue to read the series and find out what happens, to Ivy, Luna and Deputy Sanders, but if Ms. Farago isn't writing any more in this series, I will be satisfied with just these two books.
