Product Description

Size: Queen

Enjoy peace of mind knowing your mattress is protected from liquid spills, urine, dust mites and allergens by applying a Luna Mattress Protector. Luna Premium American Made waterproof mattress protectors are of the highest quality and carry a full replacement 10 year warranty. As many have found out, once an unprotected mattress is soiled by fluids, it's nearly impossible to fully remove. A soiled mattress can result in an unsanitary environment for you and your family and may even ruin your mattress altogether. If liquids are ever spilled onto the mattress, simply remove the protector and place directly into the washing machine. Luna premium mattress protectors are also a must have for those suffering from allergy triggers such as pollen and dust mites. Luna protectors prevent allergy triggers from passing through the membrane material while still allowing the mattress to breathe. Periodically wash the mattress protector, like you would your sheets, and you'll be able to effectively remove allergy causing triggers that may be resting on the surface of the protector. Luna mattress protectors work by using premium cotton terry bonded with a hypoallergenic waterproof membrane base layer. To enable the mattress to still breathe, Luna utilizes an exclusive Airflow Technology made up of proprietary microscopic pores in the membrane layer. These pores allow air to pass through while preventing liquids and dust mites from penetrating. The protector's ability to breathe extends the life of the mattress and also works to control temperature preventing our protectors from sleeping hot. Fitted sheet style elastic sides are then attached making it a perfect fit for any mattress profile. As mentioned above, all Luna products are exclusively and proudly made in the USA and contain no PVC's or phthalates.

Customer Reviews

It fit perfectly, and I have a deep mattress.

I have a young dog that has had a few accidents on the bed but no urine leaked through to the mattress.
Feels soft to the touch and doesn't make a weird crinkle plastic like noise.

My four-year-old son has recently moved into a full-sized adult, pillow-top bed. He has, unfortunately, inherited his mother's bedwetting and still wets the bed on a frequent basis. While we do take preventative measures, there's always the chance that leaks can happen (which they do... frequently). This wasn't a problem with his toddler bed mattress with its waterproof coating, but it would be with this bed. I didn't want to destroy a good-quality mattress early on, so covering it with a waterproof mattress pad was the only way to go. I was unimpressed by the selection at our local Bed, Bath and Beyond, so I decided to come online. After reading the great reviews for this mattress pad, I purchased two full-sized versions from First Class Mattress.

What I loved about them:

*Quality construction. I prewashed both pads according to their instructions and have washed both pads frequently since our purchase. Neither shrunk and there has been no fraying or other damage to report (as opposed to some other mattress pads I've purchased that fell apart after five or six washes). These truly are quality. The terry on the top softens after each wash and has a really nice feel to it.

*The fit. The fit, even on a large pillow-top mattress, is exceptional. It could even fit a thicker mattress with no problems.

*No noise. That was the biggest issue I had -- would the waterproof barrier make a ton of noise when my son moves around... and it doesn't... you can't even tell you have a mattress protector on the bed (I often lay on it when reading to him and have accidentally fallen asleep on it a few times).

*It breathes. My son will sweat when he sleeps.

I purchased 2 queen Luna mattress protectors and pillow protectors 6 months ago and wanted to post a review based on my experience. Both my daughter and I have allergies to dust mites and were told by my neighbor that Luna mattress protectors may help. One of the mattresses was 17" thick so we weren't sure how well it would fit, but it easily covered the mattress nicely. The material is very high quality and washes easily. After about a week we could actually tell a difference in our allergies from before and after we applied the mattress and pillow protectors. One added bonus of the product was when our dog had an accident on the mattress. We were amazed to discover that nothing got through the cover, which was a great relief! This mattress protector has exceeded all of my expectations and I would recommend this to anyone!

I've been on the hunt for a breathable waterproof mattress cover since buying a mattress last year that required us to mortgage our firstborn. Any kind of fluid whatsoever voids the 20-year warranty. After trying several covers, I'm starting to wonder if "breathable" and "waterproof" are mutually exclusive.

I was initially pleased by the cover. It has high-quality stretchy sides that allowed it to easily cover our extra-deep queen-size mattress. It handled the washer and dryer just fine, which boded well for its durability.

But I've finally come to admit that I just can't sleep with it anymore, as I wake up continually through the night sweating like I've been running a marathon. I don't typically have problems like that, but both my husband and I wake drenched. As the weather has turned warmer, it's now gotten to the point that I can't fall asleep in the first place due to the feeling of overheating. After having a dream last night that I was swimming, I cried uncle and took the blasted thing off the bed. I have to find something else.

I debated between two stars (because it's just unbearable for me at this point, thus useless) and three stars (because it truly does seem well-made and fits our huge mattress without a problem). If you tend to sleep cold as well as live in a cold climate, this may be a terrific find for you. Otherwise, I would be very wary of the heat-trapping issue.

And the hunt continues...

Here's the reply I posted below to a number of people who have asked if I found anything that actually works without the sauna effect:

Okay, folks... we finally gave up and bought a wool mattress pad.

I'm sure this mattress works great for most people. Just look at all the rave reviews. I buy everything based on the reviews I read on this website and this is one of the few things I've ever bought with such amazing reviews that was so amazingly terrible. Let's do a quick rundown of my likes and dislikes of this waterproof mattress pad.

1) It fit the bed

My son is 3 and he rarely has accidents but when he does he really goes to town. I'm talking head to toe covered in pee. It's an interesting thing to deal with in the morning. So anyway, if someone claims something is waterproof I expect to be able to dump a bucket of water on it and not have it leak through cause you know it's waterproof and all. I suppose it is better than having nothing but only slightly. Each of the 3 times or so he wet the bed in the last several months ended up with me using resolve to get the giant 3 foot pee stains out of the brand new mattress he was laying on.

Now I'm no expert on waterproofing but I think 100% waterproof may be slightly overstating the truth here. Maybe "52% water absorbent" or perhaps "100% as good as lying on 2 sheets" would be a better description. To be fair it is possble I got a dud, the so called lemon of the waterproof mattresses. Or maybe my child is the king of pee and pushed this protector beyond the stress tests Luna could come up with at the factory. Sadly I'll never know because it's on it's way to the dump and I'm not buying another one. This is one mans experience here and everyone else seems to be pretty happy with it, just think twice about getting this if you're child has big accidents and you like the bed you bought them.
