Enjoy Peace of Mind Knowing Your Mattress is Protected From Liquid Spills, Urine, and Dust Mites

Luna Premium American made waterproof mattress protectors are of the highest quality and carry a full replacement 10-year warranty. As many have found out, once an unprotected mattress is soiled by fluids, it is nearly impossible to fully remove. A soiled mattress can also result in an unsanitary environment for you and your family and may even ruin your mattress altogether. If liquids are ever spilled onto the mattress, simply remove the protector and place directly into the washing machine.

Luna premium mattress protectors are also a must have for those suffering from allergy triggers such as pollen and dust mites. Our protectors prevent allergy triggers from passing through the membrane material while still allowing the mattress to breathe. Periodically wash the mattress protector, like you would your sheets, and you will be able to effectively remove allergy-causing triggers that may be resting on the surface of the protector. We suggest quarterly launderings for best results.

Our protectors work by using premium cotton terry bonded with a hypoallergenic waterproof membrane base layer. To enable the mattress to still breathe, we utilize an exclusive Airflow Technology made up of proprietary microscopic pores in the membrane layer. These pores allow air to pass through while preventing liquids and dust mites from penetrating. The protectors ability to breathe also extends the life of the mattress and also works to control temperature preventing our protectors from sleeping hot. Fitted sheet style elastic sides are then attached making it a perfect fit for any mattress profile.

As mentioned above, all of our products are exclusively made in the USA and contain no PVC, vinyl or phthalates.

My four-year-old son has recently moved into a full-sized adult, pillow-top bed. He has, unfortunately, inherited his mother's bedwetting and still wets the bed on a frequent basis. While we do take preventative measures, there's always the chance that leaks can happen (which they do... frequently). This wasn't a problem with his toddler bed mattress with its waterproof coating, but it would be with this bed. I didn't want to destroy a good-quality mattress early on, so covering it with a waterproof mattress pad was the only way to go. I was unimpressed by the selection at our local Bed, Bath and Beyond, so I decided to come online. After reading the great reviews for this mattress pad, I purchased two full-sized versions from First Class Mattress.

What I loved about them:

*Quality construction. I prewashed both pads according to their instructions and have washed both pads frequently since our purchase. Neither shrunk and there has been no fraying or other damage to report (as opposed to some other mattress pads I've purchased that fell apart after five or six washes). These truly are quality. The terry on the top softens after each wash and has a really nice feel to it.

*The fit. The fit, even on a large pillow-top mattress, is exceptional. It could even fit a thicker mattress with no problems.

*No noise. That was the biggest issue I had -- would the waterproof barrier make a ton of noise when my son moves around... and it doesn't... you can't even tell you have a mattress protector on the bed (I often lay on it when reading to him and have accidentally fallen asleep on it a few times).

*It breathes. My son will sweat when he sleeps.

I purchased 2 queen Luna mattress protectors and pillow protectors 6 months ago and wanted to post a review based on my experience. Both my daughter and I have allergies to dust mites and were told by my neighbor that Luna mattress protectors may help. One of the mattresses was 17" thick so we weren't sure how well it would fit, but it easily covered the mattress nicely. The material is very high quality and washes easily. After about a week we could actually tell a difference in our allergies from before and after we applied the mattress and pillow protectors. One added bonus of the product was when our dog had an accident on the mattress. We were amazed to discover that nothing got through the cover, which was a great relief! This mattress protector has exceeded all of my expectations and I would recommend this to anyone!

I've been on the hunt for a breathable waterproof mattress cover since buying a mattress last year that required us to mortgage our firstborn. Any kind of fluid whatsoever voids the 20-year warranty. After trying several covers, I'm starting to wonder if "breathable" and "waterproof" are mutually exclusive.

I was initially pleased by the cover. It has high-quality stretchy sides that allowed it to easily cover our extra-deep queen-size mattress. It handled the washer and dryer just fine, which boded well for its durability.

But I've finally come to admit that I just can't sleep with it anymore, as I wake up continually through the night sweating like I've been running a marathon. I don't typically have problems like that, but both my husband and I wake drenched. As the weather has turned warmer, it's now gotten to the point that I can't fall asleep in the first place due to the feeling of overheating. After having a dream last night that I was swimming, I cried uncle and took the blasted thing off the bed. I have to find something else.

I debated between two stars (because it's just unbearable for me at this point, thus useless) and three stars (because it truly does seem well-made and fits our huge mattress without a problem). If you tend to sleep cold as well as live in a cold climate, this may be a terrific find for you. Otherwise, I would be very wary of the heat-trapping issue.

And the hunt continues...

Here's the reply I posted below to a number of people who have asked if I found anything that actually works without the sauna effect:

Okay, folks... we finally gave up and bought a wool mattress pad.

I always read reviews before my purchases and was a little concerned that a waterproof cover will make me hot when I sleep by reflecting the heat of the bodies back up rather than absorbing them into the mattress itself like the old cover. I am happy to report, however, that I don't feel any warmer using this mattress cover than when I used the old cover.

I am attaching a collage of five photos number 1 through 5 that I will be referencing in this review.

Photo #1 is a picture of the mattress off the mattress (on my table for the photo session) to shows the texture of the top side of the mattress cover. The top side of the mattress cover is made out of terry-cloth material.

Photo #2 is a picture of the mattress off the mattress to show the texture of the bottom side of the mattress cover. It has a shiny vinyl membrane. I tested it by pouring some water on it before putting on my bed and it held the water for several hours without leaking. The recommendation on cleaning is to use low or medium heat in the dryer to protect this membrane. After the initial washing and drying on medium heat I tested for leaks again and it remained waterproof. The mattress cover comes with a 10 year warranty for being leak proof.

Photo #3 is a picture of the mattress off the mattress to show the sheer sides of the mattress cover. You can see my hand through the sheer portion of the mattress cover, this part goes over the sides and under the mattress.

Photo #4 shows the cover on my 10" thick Queen size mattress a corner of the mattress lifted, so you can see how it fits. The cover is designed to fit mattresses from 7 inches to 18 inches high, the downside for a 10" Queen mattress that there is a lot of that gets fold under the mattress.
