My four-year-old son has recently moved into a full-sized adult, pillow-top bed. He has, unfortunately, inherited his mother's bedwetting and still wets the bed on a frequent basis. While we do take preventative measures, there's always the chance that leaks can happen (which they do... frequently). This wasn't a problem with his toddler bed mattress with its waterproof coating, but it would be with this bed. I didn't want to destroy a good-quality mattress early on, so covering it with a waterproof mattress pad was the only way to go. I was unimpressed by the selection at our local Bed, Bath and Beyond, so I decided to come online. After reading the great reviews for this mattress pad, I purchased two full-sized versions from First Class Mattress.

What I loved about them:

*Quality construction. I prewashed both pads according to their instructions and have washed both pads frequently since our purchase. Neither shrunk and there has been no fraying or other damage to report (as opposed to some other mattress pads I've purchased that fell apart after five or six washes). These truly are quality. The terry on the top softens after each wash and has a really nice feel to it.

*The fit. The fit, even on a large pillow-top mattress, is exceptional. It could even fit a thicker mattress with no problems.

*No noise. That was the biggest issue I had -- would the waterproof barrier make a ton of noise when my son moves around... and it doesn't... you can't even tell you have a mattress protector on the bed (I often lay on it when reading to him and have accidentally fallen asleep on it a few times).

*It breathes. My son will sweat when he sleeps. It was a major problem with the mattress protectors we've had in the past -- the plastic they use to make it waterproof just doesn't breathe enough. It doesn't help we live in Florida. This mattress pad breathes -- he hasn't woken up soaked in sweat since we purchased it!

*It works. This was the biggest thing. The mattress pad could be the quietest, most breathable, pad out there but if it doesn't work, it's not worth it. Both pads have protected the mattress no matter how long the leak sat there. Each time an accident happens, I check the bed for wetness and there is nothing... and sometimes there is a LOT of liquid on the top of the cover.

There is not a single thing to dislike about this product, or the company you purchase it from. First Class sent it quickly, shipping is free and the price is amazing. After looking through Bed, Bath and Beyond, I know that (even with their coupon) this is less expensive than 75% of the full-sized protectors in there and it's MUCH better quality. This isn't just a case of getting what you pay for, it's a case of getting way MORE than you pay for. If you're looking for a quality mattress protector, look no further than Luna!

UPDATE 10/31/2011:

Ok, I still can't say enough good things about these mattress covers. I used them HEAVILY for a good two full years and never had a problem. When I say heavily, I mean I bought two and had to wash one every night. That translates into washing every other day (literally)... in hot water... and (occasionally) bleach. No problems. Not one leak.

He never had a problem with a 'sauna' effect like I've heard with other people and we live in Central Florida and keep our air at 76 - 78 degrees during most of the year. No problems.

I recommend this to everyone I meet with similar issues.

This is a fantastic product! It keeps the bed dry when my son has accidents and it is very easy to clean. Be aware that this is NOT a padded protector! If that's what you're looking for, you will be disappointed.

The great thing about this protector is that it is waterproof, but also very thin. I bought 2 for my toddler's bed and can easily store the extra protector and a set of sheets for the full sized bed in a small drawer in a nightstand. I used to have one of the bulky padded protectors and had to wash it separately and it took forever to dry. Now when the sheets get wet, this is so thin that I can wash & dry the sheets and the mattress protector all in one load. Huge time saver!

I'd also like to comment on the warranty. Like I said, I have two of these for the same bed. They're both washed the same way and with the same frequency but last week, one came out of the washer with a huge rip in it. I contacted Luna Mattress customer service and they sent me a replacement within a couple of days. It's great to see a company that stands behind their product!

I have an older bed-wetter and have gone through many brands of water-proof mattress pads. This brand, by far, has been the one I like the best. The top cloth is very soft and comfortable, while the underside keeps the mattress dry, yet is not a noisy vinyl like other's I've owned. I also like that it is not bulky. I have 2 spares on hand, it's nice they don't take up a lot of storage space in the closet. Lastly, I've had covers where the underside gets stuck together from the dryer heat (even on low) yet this pad comes out in perfect shape after washing and drying (and it get's washed/dried a lot).
Top notch mattress protection and comfortable.

This protector fits our full sized deep mattress perfectly, and the corners don't slip off. It is comfortable to sleep on, with no crinkle noise or feel. A good value.

I have really bad allergies/sinus problems and thought that getting something to cut down on dust mites would be helpful. I meant to buy the one with the zipper but bought this one by mistake, this only cover's the top part of the mattress. It's pretty good quality and it doesn't make noise when you move around on the bed. My bed also feels the same so it didn't change the feel of the mattress.

I bought this cover to protect a futon mattress from one of my cats who will occasionally "mark". I found it perfect for this purpose and I am totally satisfied.

We purchased 2 of these for our 4 year old twin girls - for the "just in case" at night time! They are of great quality, wash well, and don't make any noise at all! Would definitely reccommend the product. I only wish it provided more padding too...but otherwise is great!

My sis has MS and desperately needed a new moisture resistant mattress cover. She is thrilled with ASIN:ASIN Luna Premium Hypoallergenic Waterproof Mattress Protector . She felt the best feature was the terry cloth-like top covering because it holds her bottom sheet so snuggly in place.

I bought the queen-size and it fits our double-sided pillow top mattress great. The workmanship is excellent and it provides protection without inhibiting the breathability. Very comfortable and I don't notice any difference in sound or feel before or after putting it on. Great value compared to other comparable products on the market. Delivery time was super. Would definitely recommend product and seller.

Really easy to wash--much better than washing one of those bulky mattress protectors. I also like the fact that it is waterproof. Very easy to put on and to remove when it needs washing.
