One of My best reads....!,

This review is from: In Lunacy: Apostle of Insanity Trilogy (Mutant Chronicles) (Bk. 1) (Paperback)
This book uses so much imagery its hard not to see the story in your head while reading it. The story and action was intense and I loved this book so much Ive been somewhat looking for the whole trilogy for years. Only till now did I find all three of them. A great read and its cheap.

Hack writing at its worst.,

This review is from: In Lunacy: Apostle of Insanity Trilogy (Mutant Chronicles) (Bk. 1) (Paperback)
Characters were cliched, cardboard and lifeless. I couldn't have care less if they lived or died. Dialog was awkward and inane. There were holes in the plot you could drive a Mack truck through. A net hacker kid finds out about an attempt on the head of a Megacorporation, but the company with more money and resources then God walks blindly into it? Oh, Please!! And sentence structure was terrible: "They all switched on their helmet lamps, throwing angled beams jerkily in every direction at the stained, filthy of the walls of the tunnels by the motion of climbing down the ladder." - if I was the publisher, I'd be looking to fire the editor who allowed this sentence to go into print. Amazingly, scenes with the Dark Legion were smooth, almost as if they were written by someone else. Plus, Micheal Stackpole, one of my favorite authors, wrote the last book of this trilogy, so I trudged my way through this book just to get a feeling of completion.

I have been in the Mutant Chronicles world for years now. My first experience was the RPG and after buying the source books and studying them have created my own working universe. I loved this book and am looking for the other two. Can't wait to read them!!The word I heard was that a movie was to be released Summer2000 but the production company bailed on it and the movie is kind of hanging in the balance. I haven't heard word yet as to what is going to happen with it but the world and possibilities are endless for a blockbuster movie.

Pretty Good,

I read Dementia I thought that one was great, but this one i thoguht was ok. It needed a little more action in it. It was kind of a dull at some points in the book, but other then that it was a alright of a book. I also thought they should of use more kinds of guns other then just incinerators. They should of had more gun fights and more people in the Yohimbo Team. I would recommend this book to people who like fire fights and mutans and stuff.

Movie Comming Soon to a theater near you!,

At least thats what the sticker on this book should say. Im sorry but for the previous people before me who wrote those summarys, you have no idea what a good science fiction book is. You can see this story in your head. You can see it evolving into a screen play if done by the right person. This book is like a cross between the Fifth Element and the atmosphere of Aliens. You can feel what the people in the book are going through. Im just telling you my opinion but you have to read to decide for your self.

I read the book because I was interested in the game, Mutant Chronicles and Warzone, and that the third book in the series was written by Micheal Stackpole.Reading it I though it was one of the dullest and dumbest books I had ever read. The second book was better but not all that great either. The only reason I continued to read these books was because the third was written by Stackpole. By the time I got there I was satisfied. |
