"Lunar New Year for Kids," is a hands-on workbook for parents and teachers. It was written for children from ages 3 to 12 years old to be used in the classroom or at home. The children will enjoy party ideas, dragon parades, lion dances, art projects, zodiac games, and coloring pages. The art projects are designed to be easy, as well as inexpensive to reproduce for large groups. All activities in this book have been thoroughly tested in the classroom, and are very sucessful, as well as met with much enthusiasm from children and teachers alike. Music, physical movement, art, and food all add to the ambiance of traveling to Asia during the Lunar New Year. (The Lunar New Year is the same holiday as the Chinese New Year, but in Korea and Vietnam it is called the Lunar New Year.)

Lunar New Year is a holiday celebrated by several countries, not just China. If you intend to teach this curriculum in your classroom, please understand that the following countries in Asia celebrate Lunar New Year: Cambodia, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
