I've been using the Lunaria wall calendar for the past 8-10 years and it has really helped me learn about the Lunar Cycles as the moon travels across the sky through the signs of the zodiac and passes the planets each month. Included in the back of the calendar is a very complete guide to explain all of the symbols used each day of the cycle. There are many calendars that have beautiful images of the moon but none other (that I know of) contains all of the information included in the Lunaria Calendar.

I have purchased this calendar for many years, and never paid more then 12.95. Why do you have it at 999.00? Could this be a typo? I will look further to involve Amazon.com on this. I have looked elsewhere on the web for it and no one else has it~

Believing that the cycles of the moon have a much more immediate impact on people, I decided to get this calendar - sort of as a way to see if I notice any "trends" of happenings between it and my regular solar calendar. This calendar certainly does the job of listing which day, the phase of the moon and it's relationship to the standard calendar (For example, the "Third Moon" month, day 8 is February 20th (2010).)
However, it feels that the creators could have done much more. The art on the top of each calendar page is generally poetry of some sort, some of which incorporates night/moon, but much of it does not. There are lots of symbols that aren't really explained why they're all over each calendar cell for each day. They certainly change from day to day, but I don't really know what they mean, or if it's good or bad or otherwise if my "moon sign" shows up on any given day. And some symbols don't seem to have any kind of key or legend. Also on each day cell is the moonrise and moonset times, and it still lists all the usual holidays. I would have preferred to see some sort of picture or sketch of the moon as the art, with a short story describing the history (or even sometimes important poetry that relied on the moon) on the top part of the calendar and maybe a key to *all* the symbols on each page. While I professional look and feel to it, I suppose I was just hoping for something a little different. I'm mostly using it now to see the upcoming moon phases for backyard astronomy.

I've been buying the Lunaria for years. It shows the Lunar phases and more on a daily basis. More includes eclipses and other planetary occurrences which I'm not so good at. Great artwork on every page, too, with ancient lore and bits of wisdom. To the Moon!
