The Red Elvises - what can I say, you either love 'em or you hate 'em, and it is impossible not to love 'em!

Overall 'lunatic's & poets' is a great disc - nearly every song on here is a winner.

The music is a great mix of traditional rock'n'roll crossbred with traditional Russan folk.

Although I was a little disappointed that none of the singing is in Russian, I really have only one real complaint which is, if you consider that over 11 minutes of the disc is ambient sound effects, it's really more of an EP than a full fledged album.

This 2004 release from The Red Elvises ranks among their all-time best albums. The songs on "Lunatics and Poets" are all insidiously catchy, the arrangements are lush, and the lyrics are as clever as always. There's not a weak track on the CD. The only downside to the album is the fact it ends.

Call me crazy, but I honestly think The Red Elvises are the best thing to hit the rock music world since The Beatles, and "Lunatics and Poets" cinches the comparison. Not since The Beatles has a band so successfully molded dozens of musical styles into one original sound. The Red Elvises' musicianship on this album is second to none. The band's sound is maturing in a wonderful way.

"Lunatics and Poets" proves beyond any doubt that The Red Elvises are much much more than a novelty group or just a fun live act. The Red Elvises are the past and the future of rock music rolled into one band.
