5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, October 19, 2005
This review is from: Lunch for the Sky (Audio CD)
Well, this album is truly one of a kind. I saw them live on Oct.18 in NYC, and they were equally brilliant. I listen to tons of music, my favorites include The Rocket Summer, The Academy Is..., The Strokes, Supergrass, Motion City Soundtrack, so you can see I'm pretty well rounded, in terms of rock. These guys are something different.
They are a regular five-piece: comprised of two guitars, keys, bass, and drum. But what is so unique is that the three main memebers, Kevin, Duane, and Vinny, take turns singing, each with their own unique voice. The piano also brings alot to their music, making it seem more sculpted and not so hard like most rock.
We got to meet them and they were just so nice and funny. It was great.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Lunch for the Sky (Audio CD)
"lunch for the sky" was socratic's first album, and sadly, their last. But what an album it is. If you appreciate good music, get this record. On a side note DTR is in a whole mess of financial trouble. They haven't been doing so well since the departure of their most prized acts (the starting line, something corporate and new found glory), and recent major investments, like "based on a true story" by TSL and "before the blackout" by allister have totally bombed and cost the company tons of money. I wouldn't be surprised if DTR is no more come 2007. Hopefully they'll shape up and start signing good bands, like the ones that made them a household name in the first place.
