Customer Reviews

It makes packing a lunch more fun and eating meals more enjoyable.
Eileen
Sadly the compartments are not sealed off to prevent leakage if you put something wet like fruit in one side.
Ninjaba
This is great for a small lunch for an adult or a bigger lunch for a kid.

I got the Trio and the orange-lided Duo.

Pros
I like the sleek, modern look of the silver lid (I think the Uno comes with both silver and painted-lid versions). The Trio is much more rectangular (important to me because I like things modular) and the Duo more oval shaped. Because of its shape, the Trio holds slightly more food.

Cons
The Trio seems to have a different stainless steel lining. It's a bit rougher whereas the Duo has a really smooth, shiny surface inside. The divider seems to be sturdier on the Duo as well. The vertical line on the T-bar divider is not perfectly straight in mine. Handwashing is harder with the Trio because of that extra section.

On both items, the divider is not completely sealed off at the edges and that millimeter opening will let soup, for instance, through. But I had no problems with slightly wet cut-up fruit.

Overall, Duo is more versatile (2 halves of sandwich, 1 wet 1 dy sections, etc.) and I use it almost everyday. But I still like the Trio because I pack smaller portions of various food items. Having that extra section helps.

I was highly disappointed in this item. I've purchased multiple Lunchbots containers in the past (with the painted lids) and never had an issue. But this one was just very poorly made. The welded partitions were at odd angles and completely uneven. It was as if there was no quality control at all, I had to send it back.

this is a good little box for dry snacks but since the dividers allow juices to run underneath it is not good for mixing items like fruit with crackers or if you put dip in one of the sections for example it would run into the other 2

We returned this item since the edges were too sharp on the inside. Not good for young children. The design and the concept is good, but the product quality was not upto par.

Dear GK,
We regret the sharp edges on your container in 2010. Please know that we have changed the processes in our factory to assure the edges are folded and polished so that no sharp edges appear on the product. These are no longer an issue.

We are a family owned company and we do learn from our reviews. Please know that we always stand behind our items and will gladly replace or refund any product you deem sub-par.

I bought this one and the Duo, so I'm leaving this review on both products because we use them similarly. I'm a huge fan of LunchBots for lots of reasons...

I have two young girls and we love to go on picnics or have snacks at the park now that the weather is nice again. The size and shape of these Lunchbots are perfect for fitting into the bottom of each of their little backpacks with a water bottle (stainless of course), sunscreen, sunglasses and playthings/books. We have fun filling them with yummy, creative, healthy snacks. One child gets the duo and one gets the trio-usually switching off. Homemade trailmix, peanut butter crackers, ricecakes, edemame, carrot sticks, berries and dried fruit, homemade sweet potato chips, oatmeal bars, etc.

Know that they aren't made for liquidy foods ... says "not water tight" on the box. They are perfect for everything else.
Tip: If I do something like cheese and crackers and want them separated until we eat them to avoid getting soggy, I stack the crackers in a silicone cupcake liners/baking cups. We have some cute flower ones, but I just ordered square ones specifically for my Lunchbots.

I also like the fact that they offer a divided/bento-like set up and it isn't plastic. I recently cleared my kitchen of most plastic containers...why risk it?? These things will last forever!

I have a few of the colored top LunchBots also, but I like the look of these very much.

I read a review that said there were sharp edges and dents. Not the case with any of mine...just wanted to say that.

This is my first foray into packing a waste-free lunch. It didn't suit my purposes as well as I had hoped. First, it's way smaller than I expected. I'm not sure if I didn't see the "snack" in the title or just didn't envision the size well, but it can't be a self contained lunch box (small portions of course) as I had desired. Despite that, I started to use it for its intended purpose which is to pack lunch without waste. Since the compartments aren't water tight I couldn't put things like tuna and crackers in it since the liquid from the tuna would run to the other compartments. Even things like canned peaches wouldn't work in this - really anything with any liquid to it is out. However, I have since found it useful for my daughter's camp lunch. I pack the 2 larger compartments with small fruits (grapes, cherries, blueberries, blackberries, etc) and a the long section works for a cheese stick. I've also packed all dry things like popcorn and cereal. She complained that the dry stuff mixed together, as another reviewer had also mentioned. She hasn't complained about the fruits mixing. I use this daily now, and wash it in the dishwasher nightly, and it looks and works well. I would give it a higher rating if the consruction was better and everything stayed in place. I will probably buy something similar, but in which the items stay in place and are more water tight, for my son's lunch box.

I bought this thinking it would be a good size for my kidergartener and also 'coz i try my best to avoid plastics. Unfortunately, although the size was convenient, the quality was terrible. The stainless steel was dented in more than one place and had atleast 3 small spots where the surface was very rough. It was almost like some areas were'nt polished. The edges of the lid as well as the bottom portion of the container was very rough and sharp, making it extremely unsafe for kids. I almost cut my finger on the edge trying to open the box, so definitely not suitable for young children.

I returned the product and would NOT recommend this for any age, even not for adults.

There was a small number of containers in 2011 with sharp edges. We have offered free replacements.
You can be assured that any containers sold after 2011 do not have this issue.
