Construction of the product is great and the steel is very sturdy.

I wash both the container and the lid on the top rack of my dishwasher and it still looks great even though hand washing of the cover is recommended!
Deborah Jordan

I got the Trio and the orange-lided Duo.

Pros
I like the sleek, modern look of the silver lid (I think the Uno comes with both silver and painted-lid versions). The Trio is much more rectangular (important to me because I like things modular) and the Duo more oval shaped. Because of its shape, the Trio holds slightly more food.

Cons
The Trio seems to have a different stainless steel lining. It's a bit rougher whereas the Duo has a really smooth, shiny surface inside. The divider seems to be sturdier on the Duo as well. The vertical line on the T-bar divider is not perfectly straight in mine. Handwashing is harder with the Trio because of that extra section.

On both items, the divider is not completely sealed off at the edges and that millimeter opening will let soup, for instance, through. But I had no problems with slightly wet cut-up fruit.

Overall, Duo is more versatile (2 halves of sandwich, 1 wet 1 dy sections, etc.) and I use it almost everyday. But I still like the Trio because I pack smaller portions of various food items. Having that extra section helps.

I was highly disappointed in this item. I've purchased multiple Lunchbots containers in the past (with the painted lids) and never had an issue. But this one was just very poorly made. The welded partitions were at odd angles and completely uneven. It was as if there was no quality control at all, I had to send it back.

We returned this item since the edges were too sharp on the inside. Not good for young children. The design and the concept is good, but the product quality was not upto par.

I bought this thinking it would be a good size for my kidergartener and also 'coz i try my best to avoid plastics. Unfortunately, although the size was convenient, the quality was terrible. The stainless steel was dented in more than one place and had atleast 3 small spots where the surface was very rough. It was almost like some areas were'nt polished. The edges of the lid as well as the bottom portion of the container was very rough and sharp, making it extremely unsafe for kids. I almost cut my finger on the edge trying to open the box, so definitely not suitable for young children.

I returned the product and would NOT recommend this for any age, even not for adults.

I purchased several Lunchbot stainless steel food containers, some with plain lids, and some with colored lids. The paint on the colored lids is not durable. Yes, the instructions say to hand-wash them, and there's a reason. I did not see those instructions, and now the paint is peeling off, and the "Lunchbots" logo in white is smearing off like some wet paint. It is NOT something you want to use for your kid's meal.

The stainless steel covers I have that are not colored are fine, and I really like the product overall, they do just what I want them to do. I just have to go pay for new covers.

The partitions inside the box are not tight - if you have a liquid, like water from washed fruit, it will get into the other compartments. I don't find this to be a deal-breaker.

So, I'm giving 3 stars because the colored lids are 0 stars, and the boxes themselves are a 5.

this is a good little box for dry snacks but since the dividers allow juices to run underneath it is not good for mixing items like fruit with crackers or if you put dip in one of the sections for example it would run into the other 2

I am a fan of Lunchbots in general and this new red color is great for a boy or girl. The 3 compartments have plenty of room for snacks and this is a great complement to my other sizes of Lunchbots. I'm finding that the stainless steel is very high quality and lasts a long time.

I have been using LunchBots for years now, and they are virtually indestructible (despite daily use/abuse from my five year old son). I am still using the first ones I bought three years ago, and continually add to my collection. They have outlasted every other lunchbox container even with daily dishwasher use, and are a lot more sanitary and eco-friendly. We like them so much that we have now graduated and bought them for the adults too since we bring our lunch to work now in an effort to eat healthier. My son especially likes the red color. The Trio Stainless is good for smaller snack items that accompany a typical kid's lunch (we send grapes or strawberries, some crackers and a cheese stick in the Trio) and we only have one container to wash instead of three. We use the regular LunchBots for sandwiches. The best part is we have eliminated plastic bags from the lunchbox all together. They seal well and keep food fresh. My mother always brags about how her stainless steel pots from her 1961 wedding have lasted forever, and I think LunchBots may give those pots a run for their money. You can't beat this value, and they look cool too!
