4.0 out of 5 stars Lunchbox Party!
I can easily why Lunchbox became a single from Portrait of an American Family. It was, and will always be a fun song. Any Manson fan who doesn't find this song occasionally popping up in his or her head, aught to be ashamed of themselves. It's about rebellion, violence and growing up and being a big rock n' roll Star. With this big single we are given the Original...

Lunchbox - Obviously one of manson's best. Great Song. 5/5
Next Motherf*cker Remix - Probably the best remix i've heard. 4/5
Down In The Park - AMAZING b-side and a great cover of Gary Numan's Song - 4.5/5

With this big single we are given the Original Lunchbox, the B-side Down in the Park, 3 Remix's and an Edit. The original is great in itself. Down in the Park is a very cool cover of the weird Gary Numan song. The 3 remix's are all pretty good, but I would say that the best remix is the Next Motherf***er remix. And I can only see the edit used by High school or college DJ's. I'm one of them so it's ok with me. Normally I am annoyed by Edits but this one somehow doesn't tap that little button in by head that says BURN AND DESTROY. Hope this helped. Bye.

This is a Maxi CD from the time when Manson singles still used to be great. The original song is one of the very best from Portrait of an American Family (What Manson fan didn't find him/herself wandering through the streets singing 'I've got my Lunchbox and I'm armed real well'?). The remixes are done by Charlie Clouser, and that already says it all. Clouser (NIN- and White-Zombie-keyboarder) is one of the best remixers around, and so Next Motherf***er, Brown Bag, and Metal are all great (though they do sound a bit alike, admittedly). Highschool Drop-Outs is not a remix, but just the censored radio version, and I guess it's rather a joke it landed on this single. The true highlight, however, is the new song Down in the Park, a Gary Newman cover version which is much more mature than many others on the Portrait CD, and the best Manson song from the early years. Amazon.com only lists four tracks, however the 6-track version is the only one I know. Four or six, get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, April 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Lunchbox / Down in the Park / Brown Bag / Metal (Audio CD)
one of the few singles well worth it, 4 songs that were only released on this single. the 3 remixes of lunchbox (next mofo, brown bag and metal) Give this classic manson song a funky new twist. and the cover of Down in the Park, is one that lives up to Gary Newman's origional.

Manson's singles usually don't come with b-sides, just remixes, but this has a great version of the Gary Numan song, Down In The Park. The remixes of Lunchbox have a nice touch to them, but they're not the best I've ever heard. This is a worthwhile single for Manson fans, and even a Gary Numan fan may want to hear Manson's version of Numan's most successful American hit (maybe besides Cars).

Next Motherf*cker Remix - Probably the best remix i've heard. 4/5
Down In The Park - AMAZING b-side and a great cover of Gary Numan's Song - 4.5/5
Brown Bag Remix - One of the Worst remixes on the cd, not TERRIBLE but just ok.......2.5/5
Metal Remix - Pretty bad remix :( this one is the worst here - 1.5/5
High School Dropouts - A censored version of the song. I personally HATE censorship and "clean" songs. Therefore i despised this song 0/5

---------------------
Overall, if you are good fan of Manson, it's worth it for Down in The Park, but you get 1 great remix and another ok one.

there is an amazing cover of DOWN IN THE PARK and some interesting reinterpretations of LUNCHBOX but you have to want to spend money on a cd that has the same song 5x and one cover. if your that devoted then this cd is for you. LUNCHBOX is an amazing song and well worth the price. the remixes are good and then a splendid cover all of which equals excellence

This review is from: Lunchbox / Down in the Park / Brown Bag / Metal (Audio CD)
Let's face it. "Lunchbox" and "Down in the Park" are probably the bet Manson songs there is and them being on the same disc? This is worth it. There are 4 remixes of Lunchbox, the oringinal and the xtra song Down in the Park, which is only on this disc, i think. Go buy it.

Anything by Marilyn is great, but I like his older music better, it sounds more hard core than his latest album, Mechanical Animals. That album is also very good, I tend to stay to his sort of punk rock, filthy stage better.
