Another outstanding Banditaliana CD, June 9, 2010
This review is from: Lune (Audio CD)
I thought I had all of Tesi's CDs, but then I found this in a bin at the Faltrinelli's near Toro Argentina in Rome. It's wonderful: rhythmic, melodic, infectuous, inventive, original. Tesi and Banditaliana stake out an area that heavily incorporates Tuscan and other Italian folk music, yet includes rock, light jazz, and North African influences. By turns, it's sunny and introspective. Maurizio Geri is a very expressive singer, and all the instrumentalists (reeds, percussion, guitar, and Tesi on diatonic accordion) are absolutely superb. The CD will haunt you. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Possibly even better than his CD "Thapsos," which is also superb.
