Excellent Book,

This review is from: Lungeing And Long-Reining (Paperback)
This is a nice, easy to understand guidebook for the intermediate to advanced rider who now wants to tackle bringing on their own young horse. Written by a British author and geared towards the sporthorse, this is a book I would mainly recommend to those who ride jumpers or dressage horses. The book very briefly touches on handling very young stock - the section on choosing a bit to start with is the most useful part here - and then in chapter 3 gets down to the good stuff: lungeing and long-reining the young horse. Later chapters focus on the older horse with more training, including how to safely lunge over fences and advanced long reining for the dressage horse, covering lateral work, flying changes, pirouettes and in the final chapter, piaffe and passage.

Anyone that trains dressage horses will love this book! It is great, with photos of most techniques and movements described. It is written by a trainer with great knowledge of horses and their behaviour! I loved it enough to buy her other books!
