Lupin the 3rd: Original Soundtrack

I use to watch the reruns of this show all the time in 1995 when my family was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Just about every familiar track you heard played on the show is accounted for here! With the exception of I think two that I can't remember. One of my favorite tracks has got to be the 1978 theme song. This track is played in its original format unlike the Cartoon Network / Adult Swim version. Like the Japanese show, the characters introduce themselves in the theme song played at the start. Part of the reason this anime series is so famous is because of the musical score. Each film, series, and television special is gifted with a unique soundtrack of sheer euphonic soul. Just like each song on this soundtrack is gifted beyond words. Most of the tracks are either soft and easy, smooth and sexy, fast-paced and exciting. The spirit of the 70's is as present here as Charlie's Angels. The soundtrack covers about the entire run of the show and then some. Sounds more exuberant and energetic than any James Bond film--and that; I feel is an understatement.

Some people might be put off by the Japanese dialogue, which to me just adds to the authentic world of Lupin the 3rd. (Maybe I'm just open minded) Smart choice by Pioneer. I honestly thought they were going to put everything in English. You're not left in the dark too much because Pioneer was smart enough to give out English translated lyrics. If you listen to the dialogue while you read the translation, you will not only get a better understanding of what is being said; but you will hear the emotions being felt as well.

Bottom Line: This is a masterpiece! When you are done reading this, buy this CD! Your life just might have more meaning.

I Love This Cd Is So Mucha Fun My Dad Love it Good

I purchased this cd a while ago.

It has some of the music from the episodes that I've seen on cartoon network.

There is charactor dialogue on some of the tracks --- BUT ---
it's in japaneese.

It's actually sort of annoying -- they laid it down over the top of track.

It is sort of like the DJ that is talking over the intro of a song.

One of my favorite tracks is missing ... the guitar music used when Lupin and the others are in the stadium in Rio.

The cd has alot of remixes and deals with music from the series from the late 70's and 80's.

The show did run from '67 -- 228 episodes, 8 feature length movies, 13 tv movies.

(It's going to take a long time for them to translate all of that material) :-(

I guess the producers wanted to capture the essence of the series but had to make omissions due to the shows evolution.

Overall I got 3 tracks that I was familiar with. The one I really wanted wasn't there.
