We purchased this (size small) hat for our soon to be 4 year old daughter. The fit is perfect for a small child and even allows for room to grow since it has the elastic band inside. I can see her still wearing this at age 6 or 7 even. The material is stiff but it IS a "straw" cowgirl hat. My husband's cowboy hat is the same way and is also a straw hat. If you want soft material your best bet is a crushable fleece one.

I can't begin to say how pleased I was about this purchase. First of all, my five year old loved the hat. I had trouble finding a pink cowgirl hat that I wanted, but when I did, the company was wonderful to work with. We went to a western store after I ordered, tried on a hat and realized the the one I ordered would be too small. I went home, called the company and was able to speak directly to the lady that was shipping out the hat. She told me what size I would need and changed the size on my order before it shipped out that afternoon! I can't say enough about the company and the quality of the hat. I would (and likely will) do business with them again. My product shipped in a timely manner as well, so I had just enough time to wrap it up for my daughter's birthday.

I bought this hat for my 4 year old granddaughter for Christmas. She loved it. The downside: the elastic stretch band on the inside of the hat was so tight that the hat would not sit on her head without popping off. We would have returned it but it was Christmas morning and my granddaughter was thrilled with the concept of having a cowgirl hat. We ultimately solved the problem by cutting out the elastic band and the hat now fits just fine! I guess the elastic band is supposed to make the hat fit various sized heads but it is beyond me how the hat would stay on anyone's head.

This hat is very well made. Sturdy, yet pretty. My 6 1/2 year old loved getting it for Christmas. Probably not for really little kids because if you crush it, it might not recover. But perfect for a fairly responsible 5 year old and up.

This hat is not suitable for a small child. It is WAY too big and the material it is made of is too hard and stiff. If I had been there when it arrived, I would have sent it back.

The color is the same as shown. It was delivered quickly and well worth the price. My daughter loved it with her cowgirl outfit.

A while back I ordered this pink cowgirl hat and received the wrong color. I returned it for the correct color. After waiting a long time to receive the correct hat, I emailed this vendor. He insisted he had shipped me the hat. After several e-mails, in which he became very unprofessional and belligerent, I never received the hat nor a refund.

unfortunately i must say that the quality of this hat was not what i expected. the material was so very very hard so it did not fit comfortably on the head. it was very stiff and ran small in size.
i would not reorder this hat. i found others for less money that were a better quality.

This hat is adorable, but be aware that it is hard like a true cowgirl hat, although pink it is realistic. My granddaughter is 3 1/2 and we got her a Medium and it fits great with a bit of room to grow. If you are looking for a nice hat that is a great price, this is it. It is not the felt playlike hat, but more true to the "real thing."

I loved the hat and my little girl has been very happy with, wearing it almost every day since we received it.
