Will Downing.....people, just get it!
~K.I.S.S`E.S.S~don't lie~
Every song tells a story and his voice is even better than before, if that's possible.

This is a real treat for fans of smooth jazzy soul music.

Purchased the new Will Downing, Lust, Love & Lies, I am loving it. At first before purchased I didn't know what to expect, after reading his comments about the CD, thought it was just a book on disc, boy, how wrong. Being a Will fan from the start of his career, I guess he could sing just about anything and I will/would purchase. I love the new CD, and if you enjoy Will, you will too. Just waiting for a LIVE CD from Will now to complete the collection.

OH me, oh my, MR WILL DOWNING has taken me by complete suprise with this uniquely amazing album!!. I just can't believe it, and I just can't get enough of this good stuff!!. The entire project is one well crafted story which we all can relate to at one time or another in our personal lives!!.Amazing!!. Between some of the splended songs, there's a skit that ties in each piece!!
His smooth, breezy vocals is at it's uttmost best here.I sense a most mascluline LUTHER VANDROSS as I listen. The instrumental arrangements puts you in a sense of pure wonder. It seems as if this is the ultimate WILL DOWNING album!!. I'm with him all the way, I wonder if he can top this supreme effort!!.
Perfect from start to finish WILL kicks off this classic R&B program with the bouncy "GLAD I MET YOU TONIGHT","FEELIN'ALLRIGHT" is a true party groove in classic WILL DOWNING style!. Same here for "GET TO KNOW YOU" bouncy, nice!!. "TELL ME" is in a class by itself with sweet up-in-the-clouds sensuality, a favourite!."CONSENSUAL" is well just sensual!!. Now comes the bouncy spiritual "SAFE IN HIS ARMS",awesome!. "FLY HIGHER",again a very good cut. "SATURDAY" is so good and so short!!."SHADES" is my absolute favourite song here, this is pure romantic and erotic fantasy made real!! oh, how I love it!!. Things get's sad with the quizzing "DO YOU KNOW?", "AT THIS MOMENT" expresses pain and deep regret,a beautiful sad song!. The album concludes with the light, bouncy and the regretful "COULDA BEEN/SHOULDA BEEN". This record is a true masterpiece!!.
Whether you are a WILL DOWNING fan or no, I strongly recomend this one-of-a-kind gleaming gem to you, you will be enjoying this treasure for your lifetime!!!.

Will Downing is one of the best R&B singers for the "Over 30-Grown & Sexy" crowd. "Lust, Love & Lies" is perhaps the first "concept" album he's done, & very creative on top of that, without losing its groove. All the songs are thematically related, with bits of dialogue between the tracks, with Will portraying a man who meets different women throughout the CD, & it actually has a interesting storyline that "will" keep you on your toes. LOL As far as the songs, they're all performed in the classic Will Downing style we have all come to love over the years. Check out the opening track "Glad I Met You Tonight". This has a strong, head-swaying groove that will definetely get inside of you, & won't let go. Notice how Will segues from the romantic "Consensual", to the spiritual "Safe In His Arms" (featuring Dave Hollister on co-lead vocal), & you can see Will's artistry come alive. He also does a great job in his rendition of Billy Vera's classic song from the 80's "At This Moment". My only wish was that the track "Saturday" could've been a little bit longer, as it clocks in at only 2:48, but still a nice song nonetheless. Is it Will Downing's best album? That will be up to you to decide. But in my opinion, it is his most innovative CD to date. And if you don't want to hear the storyline, just delete those tracks out, which is at about 8 minutes of conversation, & enjoy the music, which is at about 49 minutes. In closing, Will has scored another classic R&B album. I just hope the Grammys will take notice! Enjoy!

I am not feeling the talking crap! I want to hear him sing songs, not talk. Granted the conversations are nice and gives you a intro to the next song. I just do not like all the talking on a cd/Mp3 project. Just a warning there are just as many stories as songs, so if you do not mind all the talking, than you will be ok with this cd. I rather just have a shorter cd, without all the talking. So i can only give it 3 stars.

Put this on your ipod and delete the conversations. The first few times that I listened, I thought that the conversations/vignettes were great. However, when I was chillin' with my honey just talking and listening to music, the conversations were annoying. These talking points on any CD are great at first, but then what do you with them. So I recommend purchasing this CD because Will Downing is at his best. Remove the conversation after you listen a few times. Romantic and fun.

I'm sorry, as much as I understand concept recordings, and moving out of the box occasionally, the dialogue on Lust, Love & Lies only tend to distract and disorient the listener. Will's wonderful voice and musical arrangements stands on it's own and are consistent with the quality found on prior releases. There is no need for the flirtatious spoken exchanges between songs. It's too bad that I have yet to enjoy the music on LLL due to these interruptions.

I guess that I should have had a clearer understanding of what this meant (audio novel). I think that Will should have offered a "music only" version of the same CD. As others have noted, the conversations on the CD become "played out" and redundant. Although he is one of my favorite artists, maybe Mr Downing could have had one track of just talking with his "friends" at the end of the CD. C'mon now Will...
