This review is from: Lust And Love: Is it More Than Chemistry? (Hardcover)
This book uses the evocative title, "Lust and Love" to sell its rather broad investigation into the chemical processes present in the human -and sometimes animal- body.
Whilst there is a mix of both common and scientific/technical discourse, there seems to be more of the technical. Due to this, and because the topics presented rarely focus specifically on the topic of "Lust and Love", I finished the book still waiting to read and learn more about what the title of the book suggests its main theme is. Unless you're a science student looking for quotes to use in an essay or paper, the reader hoping to find a focused investigation into the topics of lust and love may be disappointed. "Lust and Love: Is it more than chemistry?" According to this work, the answer seems to be "perhaps not much more".

Most of the book is fluffy stuffing, e.g. watered down biochemistry summaries, or mentions of the Coolidge effect, etc. It does, however, have a few interesting bits of trivia, e.g. that show girls spray the prescription oxytocin containing substance syntocinon on their nipples to make them erect. Some of the chapters have absolutely no relation to the cover, e.g. chapter 14: history of lipstick.
