This is a masterpiece of erotic photography! No more and no less.

Rosen has achieved what so very few photographers and artists have been able to do -- document the sexual experience in blatantly honest, graphically intense, and artistically savvy terms. This collection has it all - male/female, female/female, male/male, and groups, all engaged in various sorts of sexual adventure.

XXX-rated, artistic, gorgeous!

Too many of the photos seemed contrived; there's much better and much more erotic photography out there. Skip this one.

Sorry, this book just doesn't cut it. It's not erotic. Erotic is not posed and contrived, this is. In a proper erotic setting even not so good looking people look sensual and appealing. These not too handsome models look bored and, well, just not too handsome. Couldn't wait to get to the end of this book so I could dispose of it. There are thousands of better books out there.

Michael Rosens photography puts the sensuality back in sexual photography. There is no mistaking the hardcore subject matter in his books, yet it still appears beautiful without an ounce of sleaze. This is one of the rare x rated books that you can keep on your coffee table comfortably while still knowing that the images will keep you in fantasy bliss for a long time to come.

This lovely hardcover from Michael Rosen is his fourth book, documenting sexuality. To be "radical" he choose to move to the world of "vanilla" sex, capturing the foreplay, climax and afterglow of plain ol' regular sex this time. As always, his models cover a broad range of ages, sizes and shapes, unlike most contemporary adult material. Much more accessible to most than his previous titles, this is a great couples book. Try snuggling down and reading it with your significant other!

Rated with one star only, since there is no way to give it a lower rating. I ordered this book recently but got rid of it practically immediately. It's not even worth a tenth of its price. There is no lust and there is no romance in this book, so its not only the sub-title that's misleading. I'm interested in erotica, in fine art and in photography. But in none of these fields this book is of any interest at all. Actually I don't think it's even worth the paper its been printed and published on.

My main problem with this book is its lackluster photography. In an effort to be "radical" and "extreme" Rosen forgot to apply basic photographic techniques regarding f stop and exposure. The result are photos with muddied tones and highlights. This renders the bodies of the models with a corpse like pallor that detracts from any erotic potential the picture might have had.

In Lust and Romance, Michael Rosen has managed to combine unapologetic sexuality with an accomplished photographic eye. Here is a book, finally, that deals with sex honestly, respectfully, and artfully.

What a disappointment! If you're looking for beauty, look elsewhere.
