5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Music and Musicality.
I don't know what the previous reviewer was looking for, but I happen to really love this CD quite a bit. I find Mr. Karamazov's interpretations to be filled with soul and a wonderful energy. Also I have no trouble hearing the counterpoint, as the other reviewer complained.

The music on this CD makes me happy and fills me with peace. This is a wonderful recording. I hope that others will feel as much spiritual satisfaction listening to this music as I have.

Enjoy!

This effort by Edin Karamazov, an experienced lutenist that come to fame for the massive public thanks to his excellent job in the Sting's Dowland CD "Songs from the labyrint", is good but the results are not positive. The CD has a transcription for lute of Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D minor and another transcription of Koyunbaba, a well-known piece for guitar by contemporain italian composer Carlo Domeniconi. The selection of the works are very good but the performance is too capricious and dirty, there's no clarity in articulation and counterpoint. With a virtuosistic aim, Edin falls in a deplorable manierism that hides all the beauty of the pieces. Too much speed, little control and no soul in his interpretation. The adition of pieces with famous singers like Renee Fleming, Andreas Scholl or Sting didn't save this defective production. Edin must forget his false rockstar dream and return to academic music with humility and dedication. He's got talent but ego made him lost the right track (Sting's effect?).
